5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended, January 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use this canister to store tea bags. I use the large version of this to store a 5 pound bag of flour, which it does so easily, and the medium version to store a 5 pound bag of sugar. The color is a very pretty shade of red. The lid has a rubber gasket which allows the lid to be replaced smoothly - the gasket does not create an air-tight seal. But that's OK for my needs. I purchased the 3 sizes in 2008. No chips yet, seems very durable. I wanted a product not made in China, preferably made in U.S. These are not made in the U.S., nor France, but not made in China. I would also recommend canisters made by Hartstone Pottery. I was not aware of them back in 2008, but it is a U.S. company based in the midwest, and their products are produced in the midwest.

I received this canister two years ago and I highly recommend it. It easily holds a 5 pound bag of sugar, which is what I use if for (this size is too small for a 5 pound bag of flour - the large canister will do that). Lid fits nicely - the rubber gasket allows lid to sit nicely on canister, but it does not create an air-tight seal. And it does not chip easily - no chips yet. Color a nice, cheery shade of red. I had initially wanted to purchase a canister set not made in China. This was what I found in 2008, and I am very happy with it. But I would recommend you also look at Hartstone Pottery canisters - they are made in the U.S. - I was not aware of that company at the time. It looks like an excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars love this cannister, February 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This cannister in the red is pretty! It arrived in perfect condition; I highly recommend if you have gold grannite counter tops. BTW- these cannisters are getting very hard to find, so if you want it you should buy it now. This was a repurchase as I broke the top of my other cannister and wanted to keep a matched set.

5.0 out of 5 stars They're beautiful & practical, February 3, 2011

I bought the three sizes of this canister and love the set. The large one is big enough for a supply of dog food so I don't have to run to the basement constantly. The color and seal are great. I recommend highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Le Creuset Canister, March 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The small canister is perfect for what I wanted which is to store coffee. It has a nice seal to keep it airtight and the Le Creuset red compliments my other red highlights in the kitchen with it's darker to lighter red progressive pattern. Great solid stoneware piece from Le Creuset.
