Love this pan. I have another in blue. It's permanently parked on my stovetop. I like it because it's a good size for cooking for one or two and it's not extremely heavy. I have their largest skillet, and believe me, it's rough on the wrist, especially red hot. I can sear stuff on the stove and then finish it off in the oven if I want to. The best thing is that I can set my burner at 5 (mid-heat) and this will get quite hot, so I never really have to cook things at high and it saves money for us in the long run. Easy to clean -Le Creuset has a dishwasher safe symbol on their packaging, but I hand wash, always, or sometimes I just wipe it clean, depending on what I've cooked. Overall, a solid purchase. But again, you might want to consider the heft…this one is about 4 1/2 or 5 lbs., easy. I'd also consider their silicone sleeves for the handle or a good potholder for grabbing because the entire pan gets hot.

You still can buy things built well. Tired of the cheapy skillets from large stores where the coating flakes off over time (into your food).
Researched and most things that are one type of metal or another is really a millimeter thin coating which lasts for a few months.
This is solid iron, needs a lot lower heat to cook things, and has enamel coating. Super healthy and easy to clean. Bought the other one also with ridges to do steaks/burgers. I have no doubt that if you follow their care instructions, these excellent cooking tools will last a long time.
Later edit: OK, maybe not so easy to clean. Kind of hard actually.

I'm a lover of Le Creuset. I have another skillet in Azure and that Lime green (Kiwi, I think it's called), before it was discontinued, as well as other pieces. However, always found it quite difficult to lift, clean, and maneuver the skillets with one hand as I used to with my old cookware. Cast iron is heavy, I know that, but I'm no weakling! I always thought that some engineer could create a design where if it was lifted as just the right spot on the handle it was very light. When I saw these new designs with another handle I thought "ingenious!" It's the next best thing and I like it a lot. The only thing is that it does mean if you are going to lift with two hands when it is still hot, you need protection on both hands! No big deal, though:)

I LOVE my Le Creuset Skillet! I was debating between a 9 inch,10 inch, and 12 inch (I typically cook for two) and am very glad I chose the 9 inch. Doesn't take up too much space and is just heavy enough (I think even the 10 inch might be a little too heavy for me). My mom had a heavier cast-iron that I dreaded using but with this one I look forward to cooking!

Although they say it doesn't require any additional seasoning, I agree with the other reviews that additional seasoning may help....but I use it without seasoning and it works perfectly fine (just not as "non-stick" as a plain cast iron with seasoning).

The sides are perfect for pouring saucy liquids left in the pan onto the meat/fish/etc.
