5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Thumbs Up!, June 20, 2008

***CAUTION! SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE RATATOUILLE***
I recently watched Ratatouille at my computer, and while the other songs were good, this was the one that I loved the most. Le Festin is a powerful song that plays twice in the movie, when Linguini discovers his will and learns that he is the owner of Gusteau's, and when the new restaurant, "Ratatouille" is shown. I like this song so much that I rewind to the scene where it starts playing, much to my sister's annoyance. In fact, I won't be surprised if it won the Oscar for "Most Oringinal Song".
LYRICS:

TRANSLATION:
The Feast

The dreams of lovers are like good wine
They give joy or even sorrow
Weakened by hunger, I am unhappy
Stealing on my way everything I can
Because nothing in life is free.

Hope is a dish too soon finished
I am accustomed to skipping meals
A thief alone and hungry is sad enough to die
As for us, I am bitter, I want to succeed
Because nothing in life is free.

Never will they say again that I cannot shoot for the stars;
Let me fill you with wonder, let me take flight
We will finally fea . . . (st).

In the close future we will finally dance
And take away the bottles, the troubles are over
I set the table; tomorrow is a new life
I am happy at the idea of this new destiny
A life spent in hiding, and now I'm finally free
The feast is on my path
A life spent in hiding, and now I'm finally free
The feast is on my path. . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have Song From Ratatouille, June 30, 2008
By yh132 (Northern VA) - See all my reviews
As soon as I heard this song in the movie, I KNEW I had to have it! It is such a cute, delightful song, with a title that translates into "The Feast" - a perfect summary of the movie in music. Absolutely adorable.
