Here's what I know about Valerie Orsoni.. she' really good at what she does. I have interviewed her a couple of times and I have the book. I wasn't sure how much better the book was going to be from the website LeBootCamp.com and how I could use it.
I picked it up and surprisingly found it easy to use -- particularly while watching tv or needing a break from work. It's an easy "read", the pages fly by and it's directed at women who don't have a lot of time to read stuff.
Anyone can give you fitness facts, but will that get you OUT of the chair or off the bed or couch to move? will it change your eating habits?
Not often-- because otherwise the country wouldn't be in such a state of sedentary lifestyle because there are tons of facts on tv, online, magazines and in papers.
What I like about how Orsoni presented the book is that it's conversational. It's chatty but without bugging you. She gives you tips in small spaces and you get to think about them and realize-- wait-- this isn't that hard to do. I started doing the one armed wall push up the first day. How hard is it? Not very. Does it take some time but it's about the length of the intro of a tv show or a couple of commercials.
I particularly like Valerie's food tips and her double duty fitness tips-- like the moves to do while brushing your teeth. (Though Valerie, I am not giving up my dishwasher.. however I can run my dog throughout the house for the same effect I suppose).
I like her approach and style and it's fun, it's not a head-banging, going to bust your butt workout-- it's simple things that can be incorporated into your life easily. It's very much NOT about deprivation, kicking yourself silly working out or that dreaded four letter word-- DIET.
It's about getting healthy, fit and eating in a healthy manner. She's found the common sense, easy way of squeezing fitness into your every day routine so that you get results without realizing it.
This book is smart, effective and fun. I love it. It's just great and motivational
