Arto is the most thought provoking and heart felt musician to come around since Nana Vasconcelos from Brazil. His music is so beautiful. Each song on this album stands on its own as a tiny masterpiece. The instrumentation is rich with harmonies, melodies, and unusual rhythms that steer away from the west and lean towards the east. If you want to listen to something refreshing, honest, beautiful, inspiring, and just different in every way, then buy any of Arto's solo albums or any of his with his Armenian Navy Band. I am considering a trip to Yerevan, Armenia if these guys never make it back to the states. I have got to see these people live. Check out youtube for Arto's solo with a frame drum and a coke bottle filled with water. It will change your view of music and you'll rethink the canned corporate music you are about to put on! Trust me and better yet....trust Arto! Cheers friends of good music.

if you dont know arto yet you are going to look for all his other cds after you hear this amazing one.its a soundtrack of a film but stands for itself.he uses traditional instruments like duduk, kanoun, etc.on very touching melodies and with artos special loving touch the result is a rare album beautiful, spiritual, and picturous.Arto is a member of night ark,an extraordinary armenian american group.

I was disappointed. The CD is more like movie-mood music, not the lively, jazzy music that he usually plays with the Armenian Navy Band.
