Finally an album of Broadway songs by Lea! She gave some of the most beautiful and strong renditions of some of the most loved show tunes. She is one the singers I know whose "live" voice sounds like it was recorded from studio. She is truly an exceptional live performer.

* I Can See It - a great opening.
* I've Never Been in Love Before - I love the simplicity and heartfelt rendition of the song. This is one of my favorite tracks in the album.
* I Enjoy Being a Girl - She sung it with a wide range of emotions, from girly to sassy, to sexy to spunky. It was a fun rendition.
* Love Look Away - watch out for the belt in the end.
* Andrew Lloyd Webber - love her take on I don't know how to love him, I'm not so enthusiastic with her As if we never said goodbye though I wish she'd sung Unexpected Song instead. She gave a commanding performance of Don't Cry for me Argentina.
* Someone Else's Story - beautiful version, this is the type of songs that fits Lea's voice perfectly
* You'll never get away from me/Wherever you go - Katrice Gavino was a good match for Lea.
* Nothing - I've heard other versions of this song, and sadly I felt Nothing. Lea's version was much more fun and energetic.
* Too Much For One Heart - probably the vocal highlight of the CD. She was truly born to play Kim
* Where is Love/As Long As He Needs Me - her performance of the latter was commanding
* Someone to Watch Over Me - she captured the emotions (sadness, hopefulness, romance) of the song. Another highlight in the CD
* Someone Like You - I love her tender final note
* Something Wonderful/Being Alive - perfect songs to end the album. Heartfelt version of the former and soaring interpretation of the latter.

Lea Salonga - unforgettable star of Miss Saigon, Flower Drum Song, Les Miserables Anniversary Concert and the beautiful singing voice of Disney's Jasmine and Mulan. Impressively talented performer.

Live singing is definitely Lea's domain - she's one of the best live singers I've ever heard. The power of her voice is indescribable; sometimes it flows through the tune being subtle and delicate, just to reveal its full strength when it's time. Once you hear Lea's amazing voice, you'll get addicted to it. Well, I am and I'm waiting for more live Lea!

Buy this audio CD together with the DVD version (also sold here at Amazon) so you actually get to see Lea perform!

Until now, there were only 3 Broadway concert DVD's that a Broadway fan SHOULD have as part of their collection:

1) Les Miserables - the 10th Anniversary Concert
2) Hey Mr. Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh
3) Andrew Lloyd Webber - The Royal Albert Hall Celebration

This album or DVD belongs to such a group! I will not be surprised if the reviewers here would love different songs in the album/DVD because all the songs Lea sung were absolutely MARVELOUS! For example, one day I find myself repeatedly listening to the song "Someone Else's Story" from Chess and the next day, I would hear over and over again her rendition of "Nothing" from a Chorus Line.

You will be missing A LOT if you fail to listen to this album. There are very few excellent Broadway albums and DVDs available in the market and this one is definitely a STEAL!
