Book Description

June 21, 2007
Lead Like Jesus offers a leadership perspective that is radically different than what you’ve been doing. It has stood the test of time – 2000 years is a good track record! Leadership is about influence - influence that focuses on the thinking, behavior and development of others.

This six week study will help you grow in your leadership as you learn to model the leadership style of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus took a ragtag group of disciples and grew them into a radical force that continues to change and challenge the way we do life and work. They were so convinced of the method and the message that they were willing to give everything to see it accomplished.

You will look at the Heart, Head, Hands and Habits of leadership as modeled by Jesus and to begin the process of incorporating them into your life and the lives of those at your work, home or church. Each unit provides key learning from Lead Like Jesus: Lessons from the Greatest Leadership Role Model of All Time, memory verses, prayers, activities and opportunities for you to write your own plan.

Join the Leadership Revolution! Be different today to make a difference in your life and the lives of those you touch. Change the world – one life at a time.

About the Author

Few have impacted the day-today management of people and companies more than Ken Blanchard As a prominent author with over three dozen books including The One Minute Manager, speaker and business consultant, Ken is universally characterized as one of the most insightful, powerful and compassionate men in business today. Speaking from the heart with warmth and humor, he is a polished storyteller who makes the seemingly complex easy to understand. With a personal faith in Jesus Christ, Ken recognizes and lifts up Jesus as the greatest leadership role model of all time. He co-founded The Center for Faithwalk Leadership, now known as Lead Like Jesus, in 1999 with a mission “to inspire and equip people to lead like Jesus.”

From AudioFile

Along with guest speakers, the three authors give a lively and spontaneous talk on Christian leadership. All the speakers are thoughtful people whose ideas about leadership go beyond those endorsed by Christians. They show how vision, planning, and a sound moral base can be incorporated into anyone's leadership style. They warn intellectual types to lead by example and advise everyone to be honest, communicate clearly, plan ahead, evaluate performance, and leverage strengths to get things done. The guest speakers have perspectives that add clarity and variety to the lesson as it moves along. Though only six hours, this is a full plate of guidance from an exceptional group of speakers. 5.0 out of 5 stars Best audio book I've listened to in a while, September 9, 2011

This review is from: Lead Like Jesus (Audio CD)
This "book" (really a recorded conference with the actual speakers, which I liked much better) far exceeded my expectations. Blanchard was great, Phil Hodges was great, Laurie Beth Jones was great, Hybels and Warren were excellent, and all the others were very good as well. The messages kept moving and were well paced.

One thing that I was very glad to hear them emphasize is that everyone who influences anyone else--including those in their own household, is a leader. So these principles are really for every person.

I was very encouraged to hear the opposite of the typical top-down leadership model, and instead hear about a servant leadership model; getting everyone involved, bringing out the best in others, giving back to the community, etc. Laurie Beth Jones' story of helping at-risk youth catch a vision for a future that included college/career rather than prison was very inspiring.

I highly recommend this CD series, and I particularly recommend listening to it rather than reading it since it was a conference and you get a sense of the way the speakers interacted with one another, etc.
