Larry is an associate pastor in Erie, PA.

Larry spent several years working in the field of children's mental health before becoming a pastor.

Larry has contributed to over twenty books related to the spiritual development of children and adults, including the Gold Medallion winning "HandsOn Bible." Larry is a frequent contributor to Children's Ministry Magazine. His pastoral work currently has him engaged in family ministry and adult education.

He holds two black belts, loves jazz, and his currently writing a novel about spiritual abuse.

I have always enjoyed books about leadership, giftings, and children's ministry and with this book you get all three of those topics wrapped up into one well written book.

I found that Larry through his descriptions of each type of person that God has made, did a wonderful job of painting a very clear picture of not only team work and what it consist of, but also helps walk you through a self discovery of how God made you and where He would have you fit.

In this realistic look into the many dynamics of children's ministry leadership and where each of us fit Larry goes on to not just help each of us to find who God has made us to be but Larry also guides us into how to recognize who God made others to be and how we can all fit on the team.

I have been a full time children's pastor for 15+ years and really enjoyed reading this book as well as giving it to each of my volunteers. In this book it has everything from simple language to challenging us veterans in children's ministry by building a plan to make our cast (volunteer team) complete.

I read this book a few years ago and loved it so much that when I took over as director for the children's ministry at my church I bought copies for the rest of the staff and we read through it together. For those of you who are like me and were once a drama club/class...nerd...person...this book will be right up your alley. It really helped to pinpoint areas of needs in our ministry and how to structure the staff to meet them and in a creative, original way. Realizing the gifts and passions of each person on the CM team really helps each person to feel more appreciated, more passionate for what they do, and gave me the strength to continue when things got rough. God really blessed me through this book.
