4.0 out of 5 stars DEAR MUSIC APPRECIATORS January 21, 2013
Format:Audio CD
Dear Music Appreciators,

I flip-flopped on these guys. Maybe this means I should (or shouldn't?) go into politics. At first I was skeptical - just another group of poperabots, carefully manufactured for maximum revenue potential and marketed to the mindless masses who will shell out the cash for anything as long as it sounds pretty and makes the masses feel better for a minute. But then, the more I listened, the more I liked, and the more I realized that when it comes to The Tenors it's really very simple - these guys can sing! They have amazing voices, and they're willing to lend them to whatever strikes their fancy.

There's Elton, there's Bee Gees, there's Dylan, there's classical, there's something original, and even that old spiritual-goosebump-gang chestnut "Amazing Grace" makes an appearance. And it's all sung beautifully. Sometimes overdone and sometimes cheesy, but maybe that's okay if it's beautifully overdone and beautifully cheesy.

For me the strongest section of the album comes right in the middle, where exactly four tracks in a row (5-8) seem neither overdone nor cheesy. The French and the Spanish helps I'm sure, (Journees D'Innocence and Manana) as does the powerfully economical structure and delivery of the English-sung pop nuggets "World Stand Still" and "Anchor."

Anyone who is too cool for school will probably not be into this stuff, and although I probably won't ever be totally down with four dudes singing an early 80's Streisand hit about being a "Woman in Love" (in Spanish), I must admit that these guys have great talent, and they deserve the support of lovers of beautiful singing everywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful arrangement of voices January 18, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Talented, romantic, powerful, dramatic and very original; a new force to keep in view for future projects and appearances. I only wish that "Bring Him Home" sung by Frashier would have been included or made available for single purchase. His rendition during the Vegas special was likely the best performance ever of this prayer in song version.

The TENORS album LEAD WITH YOUR HEART was his funeral music which discribed him perfectly. The album comforts me even today.

5.0 out of 5 stars CD The Tenors June 5, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I listen to a lot of male vocal groups (Il Divo, Chanticleer, etc. ). I saw this group on the Public television when PBS was doing a fundraiser. I loved listening to these four young men sing. It is a blend of Contemporary and Classical music. They are all well trained tenors. Each can sing solos without any difficulty. Each of them has their own distinct style of voice and character. I watched people's faces on the PBS Video Presentation and there was a man in the audience (there were lots of males in the crowd). But he looked like he would have been a construction worker or plumber because he had his "work coat" on. That grown - tough looking guy actually cried when he listened to these guys sing. That says a lot for the group. They are funny, two of them sing contemporary/modern songs while the other two have Classical voices and sing outstanding Tenor Arias.

They were originally The Canadian Tenors. Did I mention that they are really good looking guys. At least one of them is married because his family and son of 6 was in the audience and his face was glued to his Dad the whole time.

Purchase it! In fact, I am going to order the DVD. Did I tell you that they dress like Frank Sinatra? Did I tell you that these guys are really passionate about their music and their impact around the world has been overwhelmingly positive.

These guys have the best individual and harmonic voices I have ever heard. They have it all---the timbre, the resonance, and contemporary relevance. Their music gives me goose bumps, makes me cry, touches my heart, and gives me hope.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth waiting for January 15, 2013
By Sooz
Format:Audio CD
I'm a big fan of The Tenors and eagerly awaited this release. So much so that I imposed on a Canadian friend to send me a copy when it was released there. Rich music and rich vocals and arrangements.

Usually, other people's reviews don't impact me very much, but I was disappointed to read the review above mine. Even thought he seemed to appreciate the music, he manages to insult many of the other fans of The Tenors and step far over the line in his descriptions. Very unnecessary. Think I'll go back to listening to the new CD.

Right now I still listen to this each day. It's especially powerful when played on an old fashioned CD player with nice padded ear phones. I love the combination of voices and instruments. WOW

4.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this CD
I loved the CD, but was sad that "Bring Him Home" was not included since that is one of my favorites. That's the only reason for 4 stars.
