The book is revolutionary in that it challenges the way leaders have been taught to think. Winston takes the words of Jesus and applies them in a practical manner to how leader's operate in today's organizations. He points to qualities often lacking in leadership, such as being teachable, exercising controlled discipline, and extending mercy when employees make mistakes.

"Be A Leader for God's Sake," is an asset to both those in positions of leadership and those under the authority of leaders.

Bruce Winston captures a new way of looking at both secular and Christian leadership. He uses principles from the Bible to capture leadership practices that are universal and cross-cultural. I highly recommend this reading to leaders of all organizations who care about sucess with integrity. I use this book in all of my leadership classes.

A friend gave this book to me, explaining to me the value of the beatitudes and their teachings on leadership. I have been through several military leadership courses, but I found the application of Christian principles the most effective at becoming the great leader God created me to be. I'm still learning to apply this leadership style as I'm a junior supervisor, but I have noticed an improvement in decision making based on the principles Dr. Winston explained. Thank you.

He delivers power packed principles of leadership that will transform the way you manage your organization. This book moves you far beyond replicating traditional leadership principles to providing you real life examples of how to apply biblical principles successfully. I have read lots of books on this topic but have read none that can rival the care taken in providing Christian leaders with what they need to be godly leaders.

Winston goes directly to the source of wisdom as he aptly describes what makes great a leader. "The paradox of Jesus' teaching is that whoever is to be first, must be last, or at least should consider himself last. Great leaders do not seek to be number one; they become number one because their employees make them number one." (p. 30). How often we forget the singular purpose for which we serve in leadership capacity. Winston does a great job of bringing us full circle and reminding us "why" we lead.

Bruce Winston has written a book that should be required reading for anyone seriously interested in the attributes of leadership. He sheds new light and depth to what leadership is all about from a Christian perspective. Even if you're not a Christian, you can learn volumes from this book which should become a text for becoming a better person and leader. I only wish I had read this book years earlier, as it could have made the years of frustration trying to figure out what works and what doesn't quite a bit easier. My advice...buy this book, read it and apply the principles contained within. You will find, like I did, that you'll become a more effective leader and your life will be enriched as well.

Dr. Winston did an excellent job of describing the concept of agapao leadership. I had never heard of agapao leadership before and the revelations shared in this book have definitely caused a paradigm shift in how I think Christian leadership should be executed. After reading this book, you will never be the same and will be forever challenged to "Be A Leader for God's Sake"!

This book gets to the heart of what leadership really is. It describes the leader who has the follower's best interest at heart. This method inspires and transforms the entire organization. I recommend this book to every leader.

For several years I have been studying leadership. The last two years I have concentrated a great deal on the subject of Christian love in leadership. This is the most insightful book I have read on that subject.

True Leaders are a rarity in this technological age. This book is therefore a must-read for anyone who aspires to be a leader. For those who are already "leaders", until you read this book you probably are not yet leading and you cannot lead except you are "a leader for God's sake"
