LEADERSHIP IN EMPOWERED SCHOOLS is a thoughtful and scholarly book that discusses issues pertaining to current teachers and administrators in the wake of urgent reform needs. I recommend this book to a doctoral student in any field of education. The writing in the chapters themselves is a bit heavy and overlong, but they still cover necessary material as far as educational empowerment. The case studies are excellent, for they fit in very well with the content of the chapters and they help you to sympathize with real-life individuals in different school environments.

i had to get this book for a class and i must say it is not well-written... its not user friendly in that the points are not clearly laid out and its hard to really follow the flow, but there's a lot of useful history information
