This author is thoughtful, research oriented and very human. His comments are supported by his research and his life experience, both of which are very impressive. I loved the book and feel it should be a must read for everyone wanting to improve their skills. He expands the view of leadership to include how we react and respond to all people not only as "leader" in our job titles but how we can conduct ourselves as a leader in a multitude of roles. Great book.

Last semester I had the fortunate opportunity to meet and get to know Dr. Dean through a class, and I found his book truly insightful. As a student, I look for books that will teach me concise, solid concepts that I can put to use the very next day. Leadership for Everyone fits this description perfectly.

There is a chapter representing each concept of the L.E.A.D.E.R.S. method and each chapter is broken down into smaller sections. Really important points are bulleted, so when you open a page, the things you need to take away are staring right at you. Although I had to read this book for a class, I have found myself referring back to it even after the class ended. One of the chapters that stands out in my mind especially is 'Speak with Specificity'. Other books I have read of a similar genre seem to overlook the importance of clear communication, and Dr. Dean breaks it down really well in this chapter. It is a simple concept, but it makes a huge difference in the way people perceive a leader and the outcomes that follow.

In a sentence: It's an easy read (just nine chapters) that leaves you with a lot to reflect on and a set of tools to become a better leader.

As a college student, this book gave me the guidance that I needed to develop my leadership skills. Leadership development training is something that as an upcoming professional, I will carry with me throughout my career. "Leadership for Everyone" is written in a well organized way that is easy to understand. It provides real world examples that allow the reader to reflect on their own personal interactions. After you finish this book you will find yourself using the seven essential skills of the L.E.A.D.E.R.S. method each and everyday.

This book provides a well researched practical guide for anyone aiming to improve and understand leadership. Well written and easy to read.

As a career professional in Leadership Development and Executive Coaching, I found "Leadership for Everyone" by Peter J. Dean, Ph.D. to be an extremely clear exposition of specific and applicable leadership behaviors. I was also struck by the richness of the research citations that populate the book throughout the chapters culminating in a bibliography that is valuable in its own right.
In addition, the author adds a nice human touch to the book by being transparent about his own experiences in applying the leadership behaviors laid out for our consideration.

"Leadership for Everyone" is a must read for individuals at any level looking to enhance their leadership skills. The concepts outlined in the LEADERS method are inciteful and relevant in today's workplace. The book contains real world examples that can be applied to every interaction. The last few chapters allow the reader to take an introspective look at their own leadership skills and learn how their personal style affects their decision-making process.

I read this book a few weeks ago and I have found that applying the skills outlined provides immediate results. I have recommended this book to both peers and my direct reports.
