Reading the first edition of this fine book over a decade ago left an indelible impression on me, and I'm deeply grateful to the author for sharing his insights. After getting this updated version, I can say it's "needed now more than ever", for all of us in leadership roles... whether it be small business owners/entreprenuers, managers or parents -- this is an ideal book for everyone who seeks to influence and lead others.
The values of making and keeping promises, of setting the tone for expecations and so much more, are finely articulated in this sensational (and surprisingly easy-to-read) book, that makes such an impact. Bravo for a truly fine work -- and many thanks. Ken

I'm currently reading this book for a college class. I doubt there would be any other circumstance in my life when I would voluntarily bother with this waste of paper. Considering that I am working with the revised edition, I can't intuit any improvement to the original text. There is no feel of well-thought organization, there are odd anecdotes interjected at random, and there is an awful lot of repetition, and clumsily written passages on each page. My recommendation for the third revision, would be to condense the book into a four or five page pamphlet. There is not one student in my class that can willingly defend its structuring, or coherence, either. I say skip it and read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" instead (a book that demonstrates great leadership skills in action).
