I purchased this expensive e-textbook after downloading the sample, which had page numbers. After spending serious money on purchasing the book, I find there are no page numbers, only location numbers, which are not very good for in-text citations. Really irritating!!! Now I have had to purchase the hard copy book as well, so I can use it for my research papers and dissertation. I would have "returned" the e-book immediately upon finding no page numbers, but I had a reading assignment due before the hard copy would get to me. I'm SO disappointed in having spent twice as much on the e-book as the hard copy cost, only to find no page numbers!

Just purchased and discovered that it does not include page numbers (at least on my Kindle iOS app and Kindle device) Given that it is a required text book for my class, I have to return it and go with the DTB version. Very frustrating.

I'm using the book for a doctoral level course on leadership. The book is just what I need in that it combines both research and theory with practical application in a great way. I particularly liked the self-assessmnets at the end of each chapter as well as the case studies. I have never seen such a useful and well written text on the subject of leadership. It is ideal for faculty needing a well-researched and practical text.

I'd like to add to the chorus of voices complaining about the lack of page numbers in the e-edition. Despite the fact that the description says the book contains real page numbers, the e-edition does not. This is incredibly frustrating when a professor assigns portions of the reading based on page numbers, or when you are trying to cite a particular page when writing.

Either take down the description that says the kindle edition has real page numbers, or (even better) please update the kindle edition with real page numbers.

Definitely a textbook to buy and keep, not rent and return. The navigation on the Kindle version is average (the Table of Contents and Index are hyperlinked to the pages, the Chapters are not bookmarked - you have to do this yourself). I wouldn't trade the Kindle version for the paper version for anything, jumping to key words was a huge time saver when writing papers. The book does a nice job with citing references and has a comprehensive reference list. When the book references a web address, it is an active link on the Kindle.

The text is a good basic book on leadership. My objection comes with the price. This digital edition cost $6 less than the physical edition of this book! This is ridiculous! I'm a college student trying to save money by using digital editions of text books and this does not help at all! So the text itself should have 5 stars, but I can't give it that due to the disgraceful price gouging.

Got this book for school, it was one of the required texts. I found it to have great information in it, I am actually planing on re-reading it on my personal time.

Started out reading this for a class and renting it. I enjoyed it so much and thought the various theories were so practical for every day business use that I purchased it.

The author does a great job of explaining every theory and offering the supporting evidence from the literature. He also summarizes the pros and the cons of each leadership approach.

Highly recommend it to anyone involved in or looking to become involved in leadership - from family, community organizations, government, or business.
