4.0 out of 5 stars LEADERS DO IMPORTANT WORK! Really? November 23, 2012
Verified Purchase
This book is professionally written and well presented. The 6 big ideas are sound and advocated by many. Its premise is sticking to systems.

What raised my eyebrows from the start was the sentence "LEADERS DO IMPORTANT WORK", stated as an indisputable fact. Hitler, the greatest leader in the world led 50 million to their death. Mussolini, Stalin, Gaddafi are a couple of others that spring to mind. The Roman Catholic Church "systematically" slaughtered millions of the best minds and hearts, over centuries, with the Inquisition, just because they dared disobey their leadership.

Jesus, The Buddha, Gandhi, followed no system.

Need I say more?

I will give this book a 4 star because it is sound advice for regimented "Corporate Leadership" which should have been the title of this book. But "Leading Large" works outside of systems.
