I'm an LPN / LVN in RN school. Our school purchased this textbook for us, and it's not a difficult read at all, however, potential purchasers beware of these very important things:
1. This book advertises that it has a companion website (the Evolve website) and you can download the resources for free from the website. Sounds great right ? WRONG! While I've used Evolve / Elsevier for other books with great success, this one is a freakin' CLUSTER ****!!! There's a very impressive link called "STUDENT RESOURCES". Click that, and what do you get ? Oh come on, take a guess! I bet you can't guess!! Another link that says "Additional Resources"! Click on that and what do you get ? A list of websites for you to click on and read more things that could be remotely related to that chapter. Really, just a bunch of random crap that they thought may be related to the chapter. Oh but that's not all! You get one more special section called "RESUMES"!! I guess that's for all of us idiot nurses out there who don't know how to prepare our own resume!

2. This is what this book is MISSING: Practice Questions, NCLEX-style questions, and a website with additional questions. So not only does the book not have practice questions (yes, quite difficult to believe that it states that it has practice questions) but there are NONE, absolutely none on the website either!!

Potential buyer beware!!! A waste of money, a waste of time, an insult to your intelligence if you're a nurse. Please buy something else if this book is optional reading for your course.

I have never liked E-books for textbooks because the page numbers are not the same as with the textbooks, which makes it very difficult to follow along in class. I ordered this one because I saw it said paperback and didnt realize it was E-book. My assignments that usually take 1 hour and a half literally took me almost four hours because of the awful navigation style of this E-book.

I decided to give the e-book a try. I can access the book by my laptop, work computer and tablet. Any highlights made in one appears in the other, so I do not have to start over when I log in on a different computer.
As for the contents of the book itself, I have found it to contain information that is interesting to read and has real value for my job.

We used this book for one of the classes my last semester of nursing school. It had some basic info that I already knew plus a bunch of random knowledge that didn't really seem to pertain. I know that they are no longer going to be using it and the instructors are thrilled to get a better book for the nursing management course.

Good book with asking questions and helping prepare for testing. Some of the content is out of date and makes answering questions flustrating. There are a few questions that are similiar and their answers that contradict one another. I would not have purchased this book if it was no required. I feel that there are better questions and there is a more up to date version out there.

I used this book back when I was doing my BSN degree so this review is a few years late. LOL. Good book that explains the roles and responsibilities of nurse beyond the bedside clinical stuff. Its about transitioning into the role of supervisor or manager for those who are interested in leadership and management. I used this book in the last course of my BSN program and found it very useful in helping me to develop my professional portfolio and in getting ready to move my career into advance practice.

Great textbook that covers the fundamentals of leadership and management principles for nurses. I would recommend this text for undergraduate nursing programs.

I actually like the book and find the case studies to be helpful...What I really don't like is I can't access the book from my phone and I recently updated to a Windows 8 laptop and can't access the book from Windows 8 either. Why? I could maybe understand the phone but lack of access via Windows 8 is just unacceptable.
