Book Description

From The One Minute Manager to Raving Fans, Ken Blanchard's books have helped millions of people unleash their power and the potential of everyone around them. The Ken Blanchard Companies has helped thousands of organizations become more people-oriented, customer-centered, and performance-driven. Now, in Leading at a Higher Level, Updated Edition, Blanchard and his colleagues bring together everything they've learned about world-class leadership. You'll discover how to create targets and visions based on the "triple bottom line", and make sure people know who you are, where you're going, and the values that will guide your journey. From start to finish, this book extends Blanchard's breakthrough work on delivering legendary customer service, creating "raving fans," and building "Partnerships for Performance" that empower everyone who works for and with you. Updated throughout, this new edition contains two powerful, important new chapters: one on coaching to create higher-level leaders, and another on creating a higher-level culture throughout your organization. It also offers the definitive, most up-to-date techniques for leading yourself, individuals, teams, and entire organizations. Most importantly, it will help you dig deep within, discover the personal "leadership point of view" all great leaders possess-and apply it throughout your entire life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blanchard in a book January 12, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Imagine taking everything Ken Blanchard has ever written that was worth reading and put it in one book. That's what you have here. This is a gold mine. Regardless of who you lead (yourself, your family, your department, your company, your non-profit organization, your HOA, etc) this is the book for you!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good info, too many plugs for his other books December 26, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
There is tons of good information in this book, however I am baffled at the motives of the author(s) constantly referring/referencing/footnoting their own previously written books. In almost every chapter he refers to himself and co-authors in the third person ("As Ken Blanchard writes in ___ book".) It is very distracting to me and I can't determine if it is a shameless plug to sell you his other works or if it is some attempt at lending credibility to his point. If he wrote the previous book as an original idea, then he has no need to reference or quote himself. He makes excellent, thought-provoking points, but as Cynthia R. states in her book review, "Good info, too many plugs for his other books." (see how annoying that is)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great download! August 10, 2010
By Markg
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I also had no problems downloading the free version of the entire book on the kindle app for my droid phone. This is a great reference for training and leadership--everything from leading yourself, teams, companies, and learning how to coach others, as well as yourself. The authors of the Blanchard companies cover it all here!
