Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

American intelligence agent Devereaux, code-named November, and journalist Rita Macklin combat terrorist-for-profit Henry McGee and his female accomplices in this "snappily paced thriller," the 11th in the November Man series. "Staccato stylist Granger delivers easy-reading entertainment," said PW.

5.0 out of 5 stars Storyline ...., July 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: League of Terror (Mass Market Paperback)
Since Amazon hasn't posted an editorial review for this book, here's the description from the back of the book to help you decide if this book is for you: "The armistice has been all but signed. The Cold War is over. The world has no further use for spies. Or so it would seem. Fortunately, Devereaux -- the spy the call November -- knows better. Even now, he finds himself and his implacable nemesis locked in a deadly battle. The backdrop is a secret war of terrorism waged by an insidious mastermind combining the bloodiest back-alley tactics of Irish republicanism with the sleek financial machinations of Wall Street. The stakes are deeply personal, for an assassin has struck at Rita Macklin, the journalist who loves the November Man. Now Devereaux has but a single goal: kill Henry McGee, before he can strike again." Very taut suspense thriller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Battling the worst man in the world, May 10, 2006
This review is from: League of Terror (Mass Market Paperback)
In this 11th November Man thriller, Bill Granger has pulled out all the stops. When R Section agent Deveroux's estranged girlfriend, Rita Macklin is gunned down by a sniper's bullet and badly wounded and Devereaux himself is nearly killed in a deadly bomb explosion, it would appear that Henry McGee, the self-proclaimed "worst man in the world" had finally won.

Henry McGee is evil incarnate. His plan to blackmail a rich airline executive while at the same time framing the IRA for a terrorist bombing and various murders and other terrorist acts in Ireland with the help of female co-conspirator Marie Dreisler has Henry McGee at the peak of his evil genious.

As the recovering Rita Macklin falls into the clutches of an over-medicating Quack-Psychiatrist, it is up tyo Deveroux to rescue her and try to start their life anew. That would be great but there is just one problem, the spectre of Henry McGee.

Still feeling the effects from his many injuries from the bomb blast that nearly killed him, Devereaux sets out after McGee and attempts to stop and kill him. With many interesting plot twists and a brilliant finale, this quick read is definitely in the top 3 of the classic November Man/Devereaux series.
