sound a little more emo than their previous effort,

Karate High School's debut Arcade Rock caught my ear with its 8-bit & 16 bit video game sounds worked into their pop-rock compositions. However, it seems that they may have just been a theme album. On The League of Tomorrow, the group cut back on the video game tones and adds more progressive elements; which I was a little saddened to hear. They do manage to pump up the vocal melodies, but sound a little more emo than their previous effort. If anything, they have a flair for the longest song titles ever.

An Addicting New Sound,

I bought this CD because I heard one of their songs and really liked it, and the CD wasn't very expensive. After listening to the entire album, the song that made me by the album is like my 4th favorite song. I would say 90% of this album is very good. It's unique it it's own way, but it has almost an emo/rock sound probably because of the use of a Synthasizer. I think that is what they are using any ways.

the end of the world as I know it,

Apparently, I have to hand in my scene card right now because either these guys are insanely good or there is something very wrong with me. Up till now, I've done my scene proud by hurling derision and hatred the second I begin hearing that high pitched yell-singing ala Fallout Boy that means that we are at the very best getting dangerously close to emo-town. Then, these guys are opening for Foxy and before I can get the right signals sent from my brain to my booty, said booty was already dancing around like it was on fire. As much as I'm afraid to admit it, lest my metal union local 666 benefits be revoked, I have to go with my booty on this decision. The songs are catchy and snappy and decently non-sappy and if you get a chance to see them live you can't deny their sense of humor. Did I mention that this is also a concept album based around the graphic novel of the same name? Yep, it's post-hardcore/emo/heartcore/whateveryouwanttocallitthisweek and I like it and the world may very well be ending soon.
