This book profoundly affected me! Superb character development with an emphasis on the emotional state is carried throughout the novel. Leah's Journey portrays a young Russian Jew and her destiny to emerge with strength throughout the Russian pogroms, Hitler's Juderein, life in America in the garment industry, Israel's rise to independence. Her experiences are lived through her eyes and those of her family. Anyone can relate to the trials throughout her life with her struggle to find inner peace and attempt to provide safety and security for her children. I will say it is heavy reading but thoroughly worth every word
