I've adored Leahy since I stumbled across their first CD, several years ago. AFAIK, this is their first DVD, and I sincerely hope it's the first of many. The DVD presents their first broadcast show for PBS. This family puts on a wonderful show, and the music they make is beyond outstanding. They combine traditional Cape Breton and Irish/Scottish fiddling syles with updated instrumental accompaniment in a way that injects modern vitality into already wonderful traditional musical styles. And Donelle Leahy, their lead fiddler, can't really be quite human! Don't neglect to watch the "additional performances" section of the DVD--it was a crime to cut *any* part of this production from the broadcast.

I've seen this great group many timnes live, and this DVD does an excellent job of capuring the excitment of their live performance. The addition of the groups videos, not normally seen in the US was a welcome surprise.

I played this DVD the other night for a friend who is not into Celtic Music. He was back the next night wanting to see it again. Yes, it is that good. What really impresses me about the Leahy family is that they are a wholesome bunch of people yet covey such a cool and hip attitude. I really do not know what their religious affiliation is but their music quietly demonstrates a deep faith in God that is such a refreshing change from the many in your face type Christian groups. I am not much on watching televised concerts, but this one makes you feel part of it even sitting in your living room. The videos included as extras make this a must buy. Highly, highly recommended.

We saw Leahy several years ago. Finding this DVD brings back that electric concert. Everyone is so talented and the DVD show is what we saw live. It is wonderful to have this. The lively Celtic music, the dancing, the fiddle playing, the piano etc are all fun. I bought two, one to give my daughter who also was fortunate to see them somewhere else. I do recommend seeing them live, but if you can't, this is the next best thing.

This DVD of the Canadian family group Leahy is great on so many levels. It left me in tears at times with wonder at the talent of so many genetically connected people! The additional material is like another whole concert. The Leahy siblings and in-laws show the very best of Canada's celtic music and dance, and take it to a whole new level as Donnell and his sibs rock the house and add new elements that change traditional celtic music and make it so much more. I wish they could produce A live DVD every year, and hope to catch them on tour. This has left me hungering for much more Leahy!!

Great music, very talented family. Everyone I have showed this video to has loved it. We completely enjoyed the music and the dancing.

This group is a great family music machine and this DVD does a great job of making you feel like you know what sitting in a real Leahy concert could feel like. I went to a concert before buying this so I went at it the other way around. Now I look at this DVD and remember how special it is to be in the audience for the show.

I really enjoyed the Leahy family DVD. It is wonderful to see so much talent in one family. Celtic music lover should eat it up. I have been lucky enough to see Leahy at Milwaukee Irish fest several times. Watch them, enjoy them.

I am a big fan of Leahy and was glad to see them come out with a DVD. The Live Concert is pretty good, but I think it could have been better. The sound mixing could have been better, for example I thought many times I couldn't hear some of the other instruments (especially the piano) even though you could see they were being played. Plus, I don't know why there are 5 songs found in one of the bonus sections that were part of the concert. Why were they just not included in the live concert?

The best part of the DVD is the Leahy Special Features. In this section you get the Leahy story so to speak and other interviews. The greatest, however, is that this section contains some of Leahy's earlier music videos, such as B Minor, Mission, The Call to Dance and Chasing Rain (this one is really good). I think these are better than their live concert and it definitely makes it worth it to have this DVD because of these music videos.

What a family! I had heard some CD before but nothing like to see it. Incredible instrumental skilful, well chosen melodies, crazzy rithm in most tunes, a obvious complicity among the musicians, mix everything in a melting pot and you'll get LEAHY.
