Do you have questions as to how LEAN concepts apply to healthcare? This book is your answer,
By
This review is from: The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide (Spiral-bound)
This book is a great resource for all levels of your healthcare organization. It provides an introduction to LEAN concepts in healthcare and includes a glossary of defintions and descriptions of many LEAN tools and their application to different hospital settings. There are various case studies throughout the book that model these tools that can be easily translated into any healthcare organization. Most importantly to me, there are wonderful examples of Value Stream Mapping, a concept that is critical to deploying Lean in your organization effectively. I have provided copies of this book for all Hospital Leadership participating in my project work, it is that good.

Lean Healthcare...Excellent Guide for Lean Tools,
By Gil S. "Gil" (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide (Spiral-bound)
I had recently purchased this publisher's Lean Office Pocket Guide and was hoping this book on healthcare would not be a repeat. It was not! I was thoroughly impressed with the two authors who contributed to the explanation of each Lean tool as related to the healthcare environment. The book included healthcare examples for nearly every tool, along with case studies of how the tools were applied in hospitals and clinics. A commendable job for creating a tool that will assist the healthcare environment in their Lean or Six Sigma journey.

LEAN HEALTHCARE AT ITS BEST!,
By John S. (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide (Spiral-bound)
I had purchased the Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide prior to amazon having it available and was very impressed with all the Lean tools being explained relative to the healthcare industry. There has been an influx of Lean Healthcare books published in the past year and found this one the most well-written and to-the-point one. It takes the Lean Office Pocket Guide and relates it superbly to the nuances of healthcare. This book went one step further and provides case studies after many of the Lean tool sections. A highly recommended book to buy for all staff in healthcare.

Helpful guide for those working with Lean in hospitals,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide (Spiral-bound)
This is a very helpful and practical guidebook for those who are actively working on implementing Lean methods. This book wouldn't be completely sufficient for those just getting started -- for a sense of the overall philosophy other overview books should accompany this guidebook:
The Toyota Way Creating A Lean Culture: Tools To Sustain Lean Conversions These other books, even though they are written "about" manufacturing, they really do give enough of a high-level perspective on Lean that they should prove helpful for healthcare audiences and users. From my first hand experience, they have proven to be helpful for hospitals. The Pocket Guide is more focused on tools and how to use them, make sure you're using them in a context of "why" you are working on Lean. The other books will help create that perspective.

Love this for Lean/Six-Sigma reference as a whole, healthcare related or not. Very well done, everyone likes these so much, I constantly have to keep an extra on hand. We started handing them out at our Lean/Six-sigma in house training they were so popular. Now is seems I see them in the pockets of all sorts of workers in the hospital.

Healthcare Lean Principles Well-Defined,
By Julie Stafford (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide (Spiral-bound)
I found this pocket size book (3.5 x 5.5) very helpful in our training sessions. It compliments our content with a quick-reference when there is a question. The examples and discussions regarding each tool are well defined. Many tools have practical applications to help explain that tool or concept. Great buy! We also recently purchased The New Lean Healthcare Pocket Guide and like the new version also with the digital photos and additional case studies..fyi..
