Sheryl Sandberg is chief operating officer at Facebook, overseeing the firm's business operations. Prior to Facebook, Sheryl was vice president of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google, chief of staff for the United States Treasury Department under President Clinton, a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, and an economist with the World Bank.
Sheryl received a BA summa cum laude from Harvard University and an MBA with highest distinction from Harvard Business School.
Sheryl is the author of the bestsellers Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead and Lean In for Graduates and founder of LeanIn.Org, a global community committed to empowering all women to achieve their ambitions. Sheryl serves on the boards of Facebook, the Walt Disney Company, Women for Women International, and ONE.

I wish I had this before I graduated college, and definitely before getting my first full time job after graduate school. While reading this, I felt a sense of validation as I witnessed challenges at one place of business that appeared connected to my gender and my race. My experiences elsewhere had been more positive, while I still felt uncomfortable as one of a few females, or one of a few black people.

The inclusion of male and female anecdotes at the end is specially helpful. I think it's important that men are included in this discussion, which they are in this book, and as someone who is just beginning her career, and has experienced many twists and turns along the way, seeing the journey of others is refreshing and helps to put my circumstances into perspective.

A friend recommended this to me, and I have been recommending this to other friends and acquaintances as well.

If you're reading this and like what I have to say, *please upvote.* Having a positive male review on the front page will encourage more men to purchase Lean In.

I found Sandberg's attempt to foster a culture of discussion about women in the workplace to be an effective entry into the business leadership genre. Her voice is balance, relies on ample scientific evidence, and provides a fair presentation of everyone's voice. As a male working in a typical office setting, I now feel more enlightened about some of the setbacks and inequalities presented to women as they approach professional life. The special "for Graduates" edition includes a few added stories from Lean-In participants, and a detailed section on job searches. I have always felt comfortable but vague about labelling myself a male feminist. I now have a clearer understanding of why I care about women's professional equality, and how I might contribute to that cause! -Ryan Mease

This was phenomenal. It truly changed my life. This is the perfect gift for new grads. As a new grad myself, I found it funny, witty, and informative. I love that some of the chapters were written by other professionals. It gave a variety of experiences.

The original Lean in book was great, but this is "Lean In" on steroids!

If you are a woman under 35, especially a woman and/or a person of color, this is a must-read, irrespective of whether or not you read the earlier book. If you are an older professional, then read up anyway, since the added stories at the end provide perspectives from women in positions of power. These include solid advice you can still apply, including some you’ll wish someone had handed down earlier in your career.

The opening letter from the author was brilliant, yet moving. Loved the additional chapters from other influencers on their experience with Lean-in strategies. The additional salary negotiation chapter at the end is also something all readers will want to go through and review again.Totally love this book and would recommend it to others as well.

A must read for anyone, male or female, young or old. I wish I had read this book before graduating college, I been out of college for 8 years and i learned some of the lessons the hard way. There are a lot of lessons to learned and I appreciate the story about thinking that sexism was over by the time Sandberg herself started working. I realized in 2011, just as she describes realizing in the '90s, that sexism is still around even if its not a la Mad Men. I liked that she apologizes for Gen X dropping the ball on continuing to push and she lays out some great tools and the reasons to use them to keep advancing forward and pushing into positions of leadership.

This book had some important messages, but as far as usefulness, I'll have to agree with some of the reviewers, it's not for everyone. If you are not into corporate america latter climbing, this might not be all that applicable and can make you feel jaded about the working world.
