This book is great. It provides an introduction to both the theory behind Lean Six Sigma methodologies but also provides practical tips on how to implement these techniques quickly and efficiently. I love the Excel Macro's program that the author created and it really augments the material in the book. It is worth the money!!

Great confirmation!
Quick reading, excellent examples and graphics. "Telling it like it is" this is the best book I've read on Lean Six Sigma within Healthcare. You've captured it all right from the tar pits to the benefits . . well done Jay!

A useful roadmap for implementing Lean Six-Sigma,
This review is from: Lean Six Sigma for Hospitals: Simple Steps to Fast, Affordable, and Flawless Healthcare (Paperback)
I have studied numerous books on this topic, but Jay's book was the most useful work I have read so far. Jay has taken his many years of experience and provided hospitals with a realistic roadmap for understanding and implementing Lean Six-Sigma. Thanks!

LEAN Six Sigma for Hospitals,

Having the opportunity to work with Jay Arthur is an exceptional experience. Jay worked with our hospital group using his Six Sigma Simplified methods and QI Macros tools. In a matter of days, we found ways to save almost $5 million in denied insurance claims. Our laboratory services improved turnaround times, reduced waste and removed unnecessary non valued added work.
Jay is wired for improvement and he has the ability to translate that knowledge to others. His latest book is a must read for those who have been in the business for years and for those who are considering the improvement journey. With all the new regulatory changes, now is the time to be able to deliver faster, better and higher patient quality, service, and care. Take the time to review the tips and techniques outlined in this book.

All Nurses Need and Deserve This Book,

Lean Six Sigma for Hospitals cuts through the theory and gets down to business. The clinical and operational examples show just how easy it can be to make improvements quickly or as Jay says: "In five days or less."
Jay also says: "Walking is waste". When nurses spend too much time walking they can't do the thing they most enjoy, caring for patients. Unfortunately, most of this unnecessary travel was "baked into the design" by architects or administrators. Engaging nurses in redesigning a nursing unit can cut nurse travel by up to two-thirds which leads to more time with patients, better care and better outcomes. At a time when nurses are expected to do more with less, and patient satisfactions score are crucial, implementing Jay's strategies is mandatory. A solid, practical guide that save you money!,
This review is from: Lean Six Sigma for Hospitals: Simple Steps to Fast, Affordable, and Flawless Healthcare (Paperback)
Lean Six Sigma for Hospitals was like a breath of fresh air. It's very well-written, easy to read, and uses a down to earth style with a dollop of humor sprinkled in. It's different from most books on quality and process improvement. It recommends a pragmatic, simple approach to problem-solving that uses a few basic tools to find and fix 90% of problems facing healthcare. Jay says that Lean Six Sigma could save a trillion dollars in healthcare costs just a few years. Based on this book, I believe him.

Jay has the type of brain that makes the complicated stuff seem easy.
If you work in health care you simply cannot afford to read this book. I've worked professionally with Jay for years. To be honest, this book is just the start. After you read it you'll want to do what I've done which is to hire Jay to help you look at your problems in ways that can save you hundreds of hours and a SIGNIFICANT amount of money. Jay has the goods; and he has the proof to back up what he says. This book is a great resource. I'd give it 6 stars if that was an option. Buy it. Read it. Start to save/earn more now. It's almost that simple. Thanks Jay...Once again, great stuff. |
