VERY CUTE DESK,

Very easy to put together took only minutes. Perfect size for young children. *TIP TO BUYER* no cartridge is needed for the leap pad player it is already programed in. I spent several minutes trying to find one, just put in the batteries and thats all you need. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

This is a really good desk. My son just turned 3 and recieved it for his bday. He sits in it all day on and off and just loves to use the pen and the book. I highly recommend this desk !!!!!! The desk if very light also so you can carry it up stairs and downstairs like we do. The chair is pretty sturdy as well so you don't really have to worry about your child falling over.

My son recieved this desk for Christmas. He turned 2 in August and has become increasingly interested in drawing and learning how to write. I think that the desk is very cute but I am concerned by how small the chair is. My son is big for his age. He is about 37" and 42 pounds and although he can sit in it fine now, I am not sure how long he will be able to. It does not have much back support making it almost like a stool instead of a chair. My only other complaint is that there isn't much room to draw on because the little storage compartment where the leappad goes takes up a significant portion of the desk. A standard (8 1/2 x 11) sheet of paper needs to be tilted to the side to fit completely. I would have liked for the desk to be a little wider. Other than that I like the desk and more importantly, my son enjoys himself. He has been walking around with the leap pad all day and when he sits at the table he likes to use the stencils. I agree with the other reviewer about the size of the on/off button. Little eyes/hands are drawn to it. The desk is very easy to put together(although the screws are a bit difficult to find), so easy in fact that my son helped me to snap on the legs of the table and chairs!!!!!!!!

I must say I am extremly pleased w/ this purchase! Very easy to set up...less than 5 minutes. And my son LOVES IT! He is learning from it and spends hours with it. I was skeptical at first as the LeapFrogs products and how well it entertained and if it really taught them at a pre-school level. My son is 2 1/2 and is finally saying and recognizing his numbers and alphabet due to this product. so A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Extremely happy!

Let's see, we've got a pretentious crazy person equating a child's activity desk with being restrained. My daughter, 20 months, loves coloring at this desk and she's grasped the leap-pad surprisingly well. Unfortunately, she's showing remarkable creativity and a desire to read - what a sucker! Thanks for that helpful review.
To a lesser extent - a little irritating that someone would rate the product lower for not coming with a cartridge that goes with the stock "ABC" book. You see, that book works with the leap-pad when there is no cartridge - it doesn't need one. And yes, this is not made of crayon proof materials - also keep in mind that it's neither blowtorch or sledgehammer proof, nor will it last long in a raging fire. Washable crayons, however, tend to wash right off, oddly enough. If you have a 2 year old, you might want to consider them. As for the desk - I got a decent deal on the schoolbus "My First Leap-pad", but returned it when I saw this was on sale for only $15 more! The desk itself is very sturdy, easy to assemble, and nice looking. Threw away the crayons that came with, and I will insist on supervising the stamp set, which looks nice. The activity pad and notebook are nice extras, quickly spent. The surface of the desk holds the leap-pad very nicely, but this same brace to hold the pad prevents many coloring books from fitting entirely on the desk surface. The chair is far from ergonomic, but perfect for her 5-10 minute stints at the desk. As for the leap-pad, I'm very happy. Easy to use and very durable. The content of the 5 pads we bought with this seems appropriate - educational, but not so advanced as to confuse a toddler - and the best one might be the stock "ABC" book that works without a cartridge. Once again, if I were to nitpick, it would be that the on/off button is the most prominently displayed. My daughter is really getting the hang of using this, but she still is drawn first to the power button and often turns it off while in a button pushing frenzy. Overall, I'd rate the leap-pad very high on it's own, and the entire pad/desk ensemble even higher.

Comprehensive and Fabulous - A great learning tool.,

I love this product. We bought it for our 2 1/2 year old as I was looking for a way to integrate academic learning into our daily routine. I didn't want to make up alphabet cards or cut-out stencils and was having a hard time finding an all-in-one, customizable product that could help me teach her everything. When I found this, I was overjoyed. It's SO much fun.
The desk comes with a My First Leap Pad, a product well-reviewed in its own right, and a great Leap Pad book that has many activities, from a playable piano keyboard to interactive alphabet games to deductive reasoning exercises. I was sure the book would be lacking in some way, as a sort of built in incentive to buy more books (as this is one of those toys that demands a new cartridge/book accessory when your child gets bored), but this is not so. All of the games are endlessly re-playable and can be played in a variety of ways. This one book attempts to be comprehensive as an introduction to the system - it teaches math, reading, logic/reasoning, narrative structure, music, and encourages creativity. Even though I bought a pack of 6 extra different books on e-bay, I haven't opened any yet. The desk itself is more than a simple gimmick on which to store the leap pad. It comes with a great set of 4 shape-stamps, a stamp pad and paper to stamp on, a full set of traceable letter-stencils (in thick durable plastic), and three different 'creativity sets' that let your child paint, marker and draw while learning to write letters and numbers, and recognize and draw shapes (among other things, I think). We have only opened one so far, and she loves it. The alphabet creativity pack comes with magic erase markers that you use to trace out letters and color pictures that illustrate the use of each letter. You can erase and re-trace forever onto the little alphabet book, which is great. I hate activity books that are single use because they do not allow children to practice the same skill repeatedly. I also love that this product looks so great in a kid's room, as furniture. It makes my kid feel extra-big to have her own desk to 'work' on, and makes it easier to have her pay attention to the games/activities than if we were just sitting around. Alternatively, the Leap Pad itself is entirely portable, and can be taken and played with anywhere. If you cannot find this product (look on e-bay, that's where I found mine), then purchase the My First Leap Pad instead. However, this desk is a great value and really enhances what can be done with the leap pad itself. I highly recommend it.

This is by far the best gift that my daughter, age 3, got for both x-mas and her b-day. We love the built in leap pad (comes w/ batteries and book), and that it can be removed to be a desk top for her to. she also sits at it an pretends to drive. it is so light it can be moved easily to vaccume or sweep, and she can move it if needed. the books are great too. i had no luck helping her with the activities, but within a month she was a master of he leap pad. there is only 1 complaint i have... it is not easy to clean crayon off of, but the rest of the product is soooooo great, i still give it 5 stars. great for stay at home and pre-shcool go'ers alike.

this is a cute little desk, We live in an apartment so those big art desks are not an option I was worried it would be too small for my larger than average 3 yr old but she fits fine . You have to be careful when unpacking this though you could accidently throw out some stuff The screws for mine were in with the stampers and the crayons and some other stuff were attached to the inside of some cardboard that just looked like packing material If you are not looking for it you wouldn't find it. The only problem I have with this desk is my daughter drew on it with crayon , and it will not come off How do you make a kids activity desk that doesn't resist crayon marks???

The table is great, and my daughter loves it! The chair is not "dangerous" - it could be a little more stable, but my [...] has yet to fall off it. Even if she did the thing is so small it's not much of a fall.
