Editorial Reviews

From the Author

2012 update: My publishing company, Graceful Publications has started donating half the proceeds from sale of this book and of Leap to Hearts for Change, a small Canadian charity that's passionate about helping disadvantaged children around the world. Poetry doesn't make people millionaires, so I decided to do something worthwhile with the small amount of royalties these books received. I can't believe the small difference we've been able to make in just a few years. Since the paperback release of WTBG in 2008, through UNICEF and now Hearts for Change, we've been able to send five children to school and provide for their health and welfare, and we've helped countless others by donating pencils and books to entire schools. Thanks again for your help!

5.0 out of 5 stars A full range of human emotions June 6, 2010
Leap is the second compilation of Poetry by this talented Canadian. As with her first book "Where the Butterflies Go", She is able to take you on a journey of the emotions of life. She is able to see life more clearly that almost anyone I know. There are times she is able to see it through the eyes of her young daughter who happens to be on the book's cover. There are poems about Loss, Love and Life in general. There will be tears, there will be laughter and everything in between. Beautifully illustrated by Ms Grace Stewart's own Photography.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must-own June 7, 2010
Heather Grace Stewart has outdone herself with this collection. These are modern poems for a modern world, full of humor, sincerity, moxie, and sensual beauty. The accompanying photographs add a sense of wonder and depth, and make you want to jump into every scene. Heather Grace Stewart has taken the Leap into greatness, and we cannot help but follow in her footsteps. A must-own for every woman (and man, too!).

5.0 out of 5 stars I'll Be Coming Back For More July 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the second poety collection of Stewart's that I have read. I enjoyed this one as much as the first and I will be grabbing her third, Carry on Dancing, soon.

I want to mention the images in the book first. They're awesome and she places them perfectly among the poems. The picture of the World Trade Center next to the poem, When Freedom Stands, caused a stir of patriotism and sadness inside me.

One thing that I enjoy about Heather's work is that is modern. She pokes fun at social networking and the addiction it causes. Five Thousand Friends is one example. Lolita touches on an aspect of the social world that I doubt few poets have touched before, if any.

Light Moments was my favorite poem of the collection. It made me think about how we celebrate the big moments, but it's the Light Moments that make a life.

Well done, Heather. Thanks again for sharing your writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thanks for Heather's "Leap" July 7, 2012
By Monty
Format:Kindle Edition
Heather's maturity shows, in both her writing skills and her womanhood. From her first collection, Heather grows. She's focused on both the joys and tears of wife and mother and in poet's manner, why "it's all worth it." When doubt might plague, Heather can say "yes, it's worth all of the time, tears, trouble and heartache," as she shares herself with her readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved it June 21, 2012
Leap was a charming, heart-warming addition to the culture of our household. It resides on the coffee table where, every so often, my daughter would pick it up and open to a random selection and smile. A really sweet and funny work from the talented Heather Grace Stewart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving Leap! June 19, 2012
'Leap... "Leap" by Heather Grace Stewart. Don't by the book because part of the proceeds go to Unicef's Gift of Education project. Buy it for the poignancy, gentle humour and melodic writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leap May 27, 2012
I love this collection of poetry by Heather Grace Stewart. The poems, which vary in length and form, touch so many emotions. I laughed at the humour in "Honey-Do List "and enjoyed the number of poems based on social networking; I was moved by the poignancy of "Light Moments" and "Valley".
The poems that resonated strongly with me were the group which looked at motherhood/childhood. Although my children are adults, I'm revisiting many of these experiences with my young grandchildren - they are such precious times and Heather Grace Stewart has captured them in her poetry.
There are so many good things to discover in this collection, - far more than I've mentioned here. I know I shall return to them time and again.
