4.0 out of 5 stars cute toy
My 13 mo old loves this. Her older sister has the big Lily frog and she so wants to play with it, but it is too big for her and the buttons too hard for her to manipulate. This toy you can just hug or push lightly on the tummy to make it work. She likes to point with me as I count with the doll on the attached cloth book. I like the Spanish part too. There is a volume...

3.0 out of 5 stars She's Ok but a bit boring, October 4, 2004
This review is from: LeapFrog Learning Friend™ Lily (Toy)
My daughter is 23 months old and Lily doesn't really keep her attention. We have a Hug and Learn Baby Tad and he is a fave. Since my daughter just learned how to count to 10 I thought Lily would be a hit. She was for about 5 minutes. You hug her to get her to sing and she sings a silly song about numbers. Her book has the numbers 1-10 in it with different objects to corelate to the number. The numbers on her can not be pressed to name those numbers or light up a response. She'll only sing this song when you hug her. The only plus is you can switch it to Spanish. My daughter counts to 5 in Spanish (with the exception of cuatro which she can't say) so she really enjoys the song in Spanish and I hope it will reinforce the Spanish #'s for her. If I had to I wouldn't buy this again. If your child is old enough to press the buttons then I reccomend Hug and Learn Baby Tad who teaches colors, shapes, sings and will blow a kiss and say I love you. This might be better for children 1 and under since you don't have to push the buttons to hear it play and it is a smaller size. It still isn't worth the price.

This toy you can just hug or push lightly on the tummy to make it work. She likes to point with me as I count with the doll on the attached cloth book. I like the Spanish part too. There is a volume control button on the box under the velcro in the back. This is helpful! Great toy. It would be nice if you could push different parts of it to get a response, but she is happy with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Toddlers learn through play with parents, July 13, 2005
This review is from: LeapFrog Learning Friend™ Lily (Toy)
I think the point of this toy that everyone is missing is the parent. The parents are suppose to sit down with your child and count the items in the book and teach them how to count. All the items are different colors so you can teach them colors as well. We don't have Lily, we have Tad, but it is just like this. This is isn't a toy you can stick with your child and go drink your coffee. It is a child and parent interactive toy. Parents have to interact and teach. It is a teaching tool for Parents. Get involved!

5.0 out of 5 stars A girl's best friend, September 5, 2004
This review is from: LeapFrog Learning Friend™ Lily (Toy)
This Lily is awesome. My 9 month old daughters eyes lit up when she first saw her. She got so excited and laughed when Lily spoke to her. The buttons are easy to push, even for my daughter. I especially like this toy because it speaks Spanish also. My husband is Peurto Rican and toys like the Learning Friend Lily will hopefully help her to become bilingual.

My 2 year-old daughter received this toy for her 2nd birthday. She was so excited about it and played with it for all of an hour. That was a month and a half ago and Lily hasn't been played with since. She really doesn't do much. She only sings two songs! Really, really boring toy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it-- but wish it played more songs, January 11, 2006

My 11 month daugther received this for Christmas. She loves it... she starts laughing when Lily starts singing. I just wish Lily sang more songs like Baby Tad. There's not too much you can do with Lily... like Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Puppy.

But, all in all... it's worth the price just to hear my little girl laugh when Lily starts singing.

We were actually going to get the Leapfrog Desk, but because we waited until Christmas Eve(BIG mistake)it was out of stock! We were new parents and weren't really familiar with all the good educational toys. So we saw the Lily Doll and I just thought it was cute from the start. Then, I pushed the hands and played with it for a while and thought that it might do my baby some good."Good" is an understatement! My daughter immediately caught on to the song and starting counting the numbers with the Lily Doll. It took a while for me to get her use to flipping the pages to find the different objects but this toy really served it's purpose. It taught my daughter words and it helped her speech alot too. Her daycare has Spanish children there and she catches on to their words and it surprised me when she knew the Lily song in Spanish also. Her provider couldnt believe it. I love this toy and plan on keeping it for all my children to come!

3.0 out of 5 stars Little disappointing Lily, August 11, 2005
This review is from: LeapFrog Learning Friend™ Lily (Toy)
I found Lily to be a little disappointing. I was hoping that it would be more interactive for my daughter, as she thrives on things like that. But she has not and has not played with her for about 2 weeks. You give her a hug when she asks, and she says soemthing different. She doesn't guide you to find the flowers or balloons, she just starts counting. No colors or shapes. Was disappointed..

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not recommend - Get baby Tad, December 26, 2004
By
This review is from: LeapFrog Learning Friend™ Lily (Toy)
We have Baby Tad, which is great. I thought Lily would be really cute for my 17 month old. Wrong. It's not interactive at all! None of the buttons really do anything, she sings about 1 annoying song, and refers to things in the small book she is holding, which is not an easy association. I actually thought my Lily was defective, until I read another review here. Baby Tad holds her interest for longer periods of time, Lily was about a minute. BORING. [...]

3.0 out of 5 stars Lily's OK, September 20, 2005
This review is from: LeapFrog Learning Friend™ Lily (Toy)
She's nothing to write home about. I would like her more if she actually counted in order instead of jumping all around with her numbers. She speaks English and Spanish, so that's a neat feature. Baby gets bored with her rather quickly.
