Very enjoyable, a few important caveats
on February 12, 2014
Got this as a gift. My 22 month old son loves to press a button and dance to the music, over and over again. We've got quite a few of these battery-powered sound-and-music toys, but this has probably been his favorite for the past few months.
But as some other reviewers have noted, the software inside the toy apparently crashes pretty often. The toy will sometimes spontaneously make a grating, continuous "BRRRRRR" noise. It does this in the few minutes after someone has stopped playing with it, when it's not being touched at all. The noise frightens my son, and it happens just about every day that he plays with it, sometimes more than once a day.
The toy offers the feature of choosing one letter to trigger the phrase "That's the first letter of YOUR name." But the package doesn't include the instructions for setting that up. Buyers are directed to the maker's website, which will only tell how to do after signing up for the maker's mailing list. That's scummy, that's not what's advertized, IMHO. In the internet age, it's also kind of pointless (one of these very reviews very helpfully gives away the big secret). There's a ton of print on the bottom of the toy already; that's where those instructions belong.
