Luke is 3 and has fun with Learning screen, August 20, 2003

Luke got Learning Screen Karaoke for his birthday and really likes it. He figured out how to use it with no problem and likes the screen part. The abc's show up as each letter is sung. Digital pictures are cute and he knows what is coming up next. Words to the classic songs need to be downloaded from a site but we remember the words anyway. I would buy this toy again.

Terrific teaching toy!, November 30, 2003

When my boys first saw this toy they were mesmerized. I am a big fan of Leap Frog products and this is a great addition to our personal collection. The unit has just over 50 songs in 4 categories; ABC's, Numbers, Phonics, and Traditional. In the latter, you'll find 15 of the most common nursery rhymes/childrens songs. The LCD screen has very cute displays which go along with the lyrics (letters, numbers, or animations). Some songs are active follow along (simple arm, leg, or body movements) in which your child can watch the display ( a bit better than a stick figure) on the LCD screen for instruction in how to move their body to match the lyrics. There are three fun effects buttons; an introduction, a drum roll, and applause. The microphone is cool and lots of fun. There is a pitch control to make your voice very low or very high as well as normal sounding. There is a nice built-in cord wrap ( for the microphone) on the back of the unit, however, no matter how I wrap the cord it leaves loose slack -unless you unplug the microphone jack each time. Personally, I'd rather not have my kids yanking on the cord to pull it out and push it in repeatedly. There are separate volume controls for the microphone and song playing unit. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it highly.

A great toy, but TOO loud!, November 11, 2003

My daughter LOVES this toy! There is a variety of different activities to teach letter sounds and numbers, and the sound quality is excellent. However, my one complaint is that the highest volume setting is the default, and it is extremely loud!
