Luke got Learning Screen Karaoke for his birthday and really likes it. He figured out how to use it with no problem and likes the screen part. The abc's show up as each letter is sung. Digital pictures are cute and he knows what is coming up next.Words to the classic songs need to be downloaded from a site but we remember the words anyway. I would buy this toy again.

When my boys first saw this toy they were mesmerized. I am a big fan of Leap Frog products and this is a great addition to our personal collection. The unit has just over 50 songs in 4 categories; ABC's, Numbers, Phonics, and Traditional. In the latter, you'll find 15 of the most common nursery rhymes/childrens songs. The LCD screen has very cute displays which go along with the lyrics (letters, numbers, or animations). Some songs are active follow along (simple arm, leg, or body movements) in which your child can watch the display ( a bit better than a stick figure) on the LCD screen for instruction in how to move their body to match the lyrics. There are three fun effects buttons; an introduction, a drum roll, and applause. The microphone is cool and lots of fun. There is a pitch control to make your voice very low or very high as well as normal sounding. There is a nice built-in cord wrap ( for the microphone) on the back of the unit, however, no matter how I wrap the cord it leaves loose slack -unless you unplug the microphone jack each time. Personally, I'd rather not have my kids yanking on the cord to pull it out and push it in repeatedly. There are separate volume controls for the microphone and song playing unit. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it highly.

My daughter LOVES this toy! There is a variety of different activities to teach letter sounds and numbers, and the sound quality is excellent. However, my one complaint is that the highest volume setting is the default, and it is extremely loud!

My two year old son got this as an early Christmas gift from Gramma and we had a blast with it in the car all the way home! Had to keep reminding my 12 year old who's toy it was!!!The microphone cord is rather long and can be static at times but it is very durable. Has gone thru alot already with my two year old yanking on it and pulling it out of the machine constantly. The price on Amazon is a lot better than we got at Walmart. This is a toy I'd highly recommend even if you have to pay the higher price at Walmart, it's worth it for the hours of fun you'll have with this toy. The voice is filtered so you do not get a normal voice - it will be high (like a chipmunk) or looow (like a bullfrog) but you can have lots of SILLY fun with it.

My son received this last year for Christmas (just a little over a week shy of his 3rd birthday). He absolutely loves it! At first he just wanted to press the buttons and turn the dial, but gradually he moved along to playing certain songs he liked over and over, and now really plays with it, listening to all the songs, counting along with it, saying his ABC's. He is speech delayed and I think this has helped him in stringing words together and in his pronunciation of letters. He loves to sing into the microphone along with the songs, or solo. I even join in sometimes as the microphone functions solo. I'll adjust the voice altering feature on it, and sing or talk into it. He thinks it's hysterical to hear my voice sound like a little kid, or like a deep-voiced man. I get a kick out of it too! I'd definitely recommend this toy, and it is definitely worth the price!

My 3 year old has progressed from saying 1 word for an entire year, to being able to sing along with the childrens songs. He recognizes all the letters of the alphabet from the great graphics on this toy. He has also learned to count 20 leap frogs along with the song. We were pleasantly surprised when we were sent a free replacement microphone when my 5 year old broke it while improperly playing with it (as small boys often do.)

This is my daughters all time favorite toy. It is not only entertaining, but it is educational. This toy has taught my daughter countless songs, spellings, sounds, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this toy.

My son is nowhere near the recommended age for this toy, but at 15 months he loves it anyway. I got it because it was on sale and set it on his toy shelf. He points to it and demands me to bring it to him. I take off the mic because the cord is a choking hazard. Other than that, the toy seems safe for him to play with. He loves pushing the buttons. He also likes watching the lights. I personally think this toy is more appropriate for a toddler than a four-year-old because I imagine a four-year-old would have moved on to toys like Leapster. My gripe is that there are no lyrics to the songs that are played. They are very simple songs, like Pop Goes The Weasel, but I find myself going "All the cobbler's bench. A hum huma humahummm." because I can't quite remember the words. Also some of the songs are Leapfrog songs, for example "Upper case letter are big and tall" or something like that. Basically, though the songs are cute. One that is in my head right now goes "Manny manny moo. Moo moo. Zanny zanny zoo. Zoo zoo." Simple, cute song.

This toy seemed to have a lot of the qualities a 2 year old would need. Durable, learning and fun. The durable part is okay, but the microphone and speaker quality is not good. There is no true learning quality to this toy. I know my son is a little young for this toy, but he has figured out my cd, dvd, and television including remotes so electronically this toy is not a challenge. Learning music might be a little better, but you really need a song book to be a true learning toy. My son has a very long attention span for toys that challenge him and unfortunately this is not one of them. He plays with this toy for about 5 minutes and then moves on. The only great part of this toy was the price as it was on sale. This toy is only okay.

My kids adore this machine! Not only does it go through all the ABC's, shapes, and favorite songs, but it gives them a chance to sing to the music too. They love the microphone effect. Make sure you stock up on batteries! My kids run them out because they use it all the time. I would definately invest in some earplugs if you don't like listening to all that music. I find it very cute when my kids go around singing those songs, though.
