4 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Dimitri on January 30, 2012
This toy is actually worse than the Leapster Explorer in terms of usability and durability and quality.
For $70, the price I paid, this product fails to deliver on numerous accounts:
1) The battery life is about two hours at most. You would think that if this camera is aimed at children that will be using it constantly, then the company would make some effort to improve battery life. Plus, to insert new batteries is very difficult, even for someone with some dexterity. In contrast, the Leapster has a much better battery compartment.
2) The quality of the photographs is pathetic, there is not a single picture that came out nice while we had it.
3) The menus are counterintuitive, it took me a long time to understand how to display the pictures and delete unwanted ones.
4) The camera technology used must be so antiquated that without flash not a single photo comes out nice. Ofcourse, then you have to wait for the flash to charge which takes a long time.

I understand that this is meant as a children's toy and I do not have high expectations, however, after using it for a few weeks and becoming constantly frustrated, I have no qualms about saying that toy is a waste of money. At least it did not break after my son dropped it a few times.

Overall, I found this product to be consistent with the quality of other Leapfrog toys, very poorly designed, very frustrating to use and not delivering on any account.

Ours ended up in the trash in short order.
