5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games for Leapster and Leapster L-Max
You have to get this game for your leapster, and if you don't have one yet, get the whole system! It's just awesome! My five-year-old LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this game. Although it's meant for 4th graders, he has no problems with the math questions which all have to be answered prior to going to the next level. It has all of Batman's villans - the Joker, Mr. Freeze,...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games for Leapster and Leapster L-Max, May 11, 2006

This review is from: GAME Batman (Toy)
You have to get this game for your leapster, and if you don't have one yet, get the whole system! It's just awesome! My five-year-old LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this game. Although it's meant for 4th graders, he has no problems with the math questions which all have to be answered prior to going to the next level. It has all of Batman's villans - the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Cluemaster, etc. The math questions get harder on the higher levels and I about passed out when my five-year-old was learning about Scalene triangles and the dimensions of an isosoles triangle and breezing through it like it was nothing. Then, my husband gets ahold of it and just cannot put it down.

All this to say that this is very, very addictive and they should put that warning on the label! This is a great son and dad game to play too, especially when it's projected onto the television with the leapster L-Max. If you know of someone who hates math, by all means buy this game. It certainly will erase all of that and provide a very, very enjoyable learning experience as well.

You just can't get a better toy or a better learning tool. Praise God for Leapfrog. We've been buying their stuff since my son was born and everything has been so wonderful. This has absolutely by far been one of the best inventions yet for learning. Absolutely unbelievable. Love this game and I highly recommend it!

My son just received a leapster and the batman game for christmas. What a hit! My son is in the second grade and is very eager to learn his division and multiplication. This game is educational as well as challenging. And it's an added plus that it features all of his favorite characters from batman!

4.0 out of 5 stars Batman is really hard..., October 24, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: GAME Batman (Toy)
Batman is a little hard when it comes to the middle of the game.
I sometimes have my parents help me with that part of the game and I still
can't figure it out. I am good at my math skills, but in this part of the game I don't know if I jump, press the B button,or press the A button.
A similar Leapster game is "Second Grade." That game is excellent for
third, fourth, and fifth graders. I prefer playing "Second Grade" instead of
"Batman."

We have an advanced 6 year old who LOVES this game. She is no tomboy, but rather a "Barbie" girl. I was reluctant about getting this for her, but it turns out that she adores playing it. We got this game for her L-Max.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great tool for kids!!, March 9, 2006
This review is from: GAME Batman (Toy)
I have spent a great deal of time and money looking around for games and tools that my 9 year old with special educational needs could play without being self-concious. He has been teased over and over about games that he plays with being a "baby" game, but leapster managed to help out with that. I HIGHLY reccomend any L-Max game. These games are based on education within a "normal" game setting. You can't advance in the game without getting the answers correct. Leapster is the answer to my prears. Fun and learning at the same time. If you have a child that is behind in the major subjects invest your money in leapster. You won't be sorry!

My daughter played "Batman: Strength In Numbers". She outgrew it, and needed something more challenging. After receiving "Batman: Multiply Divide and Conquer", she told me that the maze is exactly the same, and the villains she fights are also the same. This is lazy game construction. Leap Frog simply took the previous game and changed the challenge questions, changed the floating stones to float vertically instead of horizontally, and made the villains a little harder to kill. That's pretty much it. Different villains in a different maze would have made the game more unique.

Also, the hints need help. One question was, what's 900 times 70. My daughter used the hint button which simply told her the shortcut way of how to do the problem. Ignore the zeros and then add them at the end of whatever 9 times 7 is. Not cool. My daughter had no idea why this short cut worked. I did a math exercise with her to help her see the pattern in order for her to understand why it worked. Other Leapster mathematical games gave visual representations along with the hints, and did not do short cuts. For a company that advertises learning games, they need to step up and follow current studies which show that students need to understand the fundamentals, and the long way of doing math, before they can understand the short cuts of math, with the use of as many visual aids and hands on activities as possible.

Hence I am rather disappointed with this game.
The only reason why it did not get a lower than a three is that my daughter is still having fun with the game.

My son cant put this game down; I bought it thinking that I will have to save it for a while because he is in 1st grade and doesnt know multiplication or division, how wrong I was. He tried the game and even though he doesnt know all the answers he can play and defeat all the bad guys. By the time he gets to 3rd grade Im sure he will know all his time tables. Im glad I bought it.
