I just bought this tonight at [a local retailer] for my son's Leap Pad. I think it's great! Keeps everything neat and organized. There is plenty of space for more than four books and cartridges. You could fit at least 2 cartridges in each of the mesh pockets. Also plenty of space where the Leap Pad fits in, could put a couple more books there. Mine is not the same color scheme as the one shown here. It is dark blue on the flap, yellow straps with the rest of the bag being green. My son enjoys it and has already been walking around the house with it on! I would definitely recommend this product!

Let, me start out by saying there should be "N/A" (non-applicable) space on the rating scales. Because you really can't say this is a toy -- it's a backpack. The stuff that goes in it, is the toy that is fun & educational. I purchased the bright froggy green and sky blue color to match my sons LeapPad. It is a very lightweight but durable backpack. It has adjustable shoulder straps, a handle for carrying and Velcro fasteners to secure it shut. The material is easy to wash (by using any soapy cloth or paper towel). There's a special pouch with extra padding for the LeapPad, another in front of it to hold LeapPad books, and net pouches to hold LeapPad cartridges. I know they made this to hold 4 books and cartridges, however, this could fit double that amount! My only complaint is, that I wish they made the net pouches just a little bit longer, because as it is now I can put 2 cartridges in each pouch (to fit a total of 8 cartridges) but the top cartridges hang a little over the netting (but they still stay in securely). If you have a lot of books and cartridges, as I do -- this is great for your child to travel with. I think it's worth the purchase!

For all of you that are considering getting this backpack it is a great product, and a great way to store all your leap pad cartridges and books. I found this backpack to be very durable and cleans real easy with just water or a baby wipe. I believe it will hold up to a lot of wear and tear and travel. The only thing I can see as a bit of a problem is that this backpack might be a little on the heavyside for a child to carry by themselfs with it full. With all the books and pockets full and also the leappad player inside it can be quite heavy (our backback is completely full). The backpack has 4 mesh pockets on the inside.....I find the pockets can hold 2 cartridges each so it can hold a total of 8 cartridges. There is also 2 more large pockets.....I use one for the books (I can fit in 8 books perfectly, with no cramping) There is also a bigger pocket for the leappad system to go in. I also have the leappad puzzle pack and it fits in there next the leap system very well. My backpack is jammed full but everything fits well and is nice and secure. I am going to purchase the leapfrog organizer as well, since I am running out of room in our backpack and still buying more books......I was told the leappad organizer can hold 12 cartridges.

I gave this low stars on "fun" and "educational" because it is after all just a backpack!
Today I received this bag and was anxious to see if it would fit our Leap Pad Pro we are giving our son for Christmas. It did! It has PLENTY of room. However, my backpack does not look like that one pictured. (...)The one I received in the mail has a dark blue cover and lime green sides and back with yellow straps. It looks very nice. And it is very durable.
This will make a great companion to our Leap Pad Pro. Also, it has an additional strap/hook on the back so you can hang it up.

I was so happy when I found this backpack for my daughter's Leap Pad. It is really nice and helps keep everything together. Also provides protection for the Leap Pad and accessories. The only downfall is the fact it could stand to be just a bit larger and provide storage for more books and cartridges. It only has storage for four books and cartridges. Beyond that you have to get creative to get them all in there. But all in all this is a must have.

This is a nice item to keep all of your LeapPad items organized and great for travel. However, be sure you get the newer version of this item. I bought the older version at another store and it held only four books and cartidges. The newer version (yellow straps on the back) is wider, deeper and will hold 8 cartidges and books. It is a much better product.

I have purchased this product and I am very happy with its durability. Great purchase to keep all your Leap Pad stuff organized and in one place...definitely fits more than 4 books and cartidges. Worth it.

We love our LeapPad, and have about 12 books & cartridges to store. This backpack is great to take along 4-6 books/cartridges, but not any more than that. We wish it were a little deeper and had more pockets for more books and maybe for a set of headphones. Other than the size issue, this backpack is a "must have" for owners of the LeapPad/LeapPad Pro.

I bought my son the LeapPad and a few books for the holidays. He absolutely LOVED it and plays with it almost everyday! The only problem was that we had no real way to store and carry the many parts that comes with each book. When I found this backpack and ordered it for my son he was thrilled! We can now easily carry the unit and the books in one NEAT and well organized backpack!

If you have several Leap books and your child likes to carry them all, this is the item that you need. It keeps them all in one spot and you do not have to worry about keeping up with them. It is a must have item.
