I ordered 3 of these for my neice and newphews as christmas gifts. When the package arrived, they were wrapped individually in plastic bags....no box! To make things worse, they did not come with any of the accessories, i.e. headphones or ac adaptor. How are you suppose to use it without those vital components? It's too bad because I'm a teacher and use these in my classroom and they're great. Amazon dropped the ball on this one.

I purchased this item with (2) books for my grandson after it was offered for a "Deal" during Amazon's cyberweek specials. The pictures clearly shows a headphone, sample book and wall adapter that did not arrive with the product. And, the LeapPad arrived without a box and laying inside the bottom of the packaging. I tried to find a way to address problem with Amazon and finally found the "Return Center" I will have to pay for it.

STAY AWAY unless you want old discontinued product.
I too fell for this. Shortly after ordering, went to company website and found that it had been discontinued in 2008. Very few new books still available. Leapfrog has switched to the tag system.
Appears that they are unloading old, possbily refurbished items.
I returned it and the books I purchased at the same time.

good toys for my preschool kid
I bought this toy for my 4 years old daughter. She likes it very much. She reads this book many times. I think it is a good toy for little reader.

Good hardware, hard to find software due to discontinued item
This item has been discontinued by Leap Frog. You can still find books in eBay that works for Leap Pad. Read more
