The T Rex reader book is a winner. My little boy sits for hours and plays with this book. The audio is well done.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy from "The Price Pros"
Ordered the LeapFrog Tag Activity Storybook T-Rex's Mighty Roar. The "Price Pros" cancelled the order while in shipment stating they had shipped the wrong item and did not resend. I guess it won't make it under the Christmas Tree.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book, especially for dinosaur lovers!, January 13, 2010

This review is from: LeapFrog Tag Activity Storybook T-Rex's Mighty Roar (Toy)
My son received this book for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it! It's all about a little T-Rex and his mommy on a day built for roaring. After roaring all day, T-Rex's mommy goes out to find some food, but little T-Rex still wants to roar. He chases a dragonfly and ends up getting lost, so the book is all about his adventure trying to find his way home. The neat part about this book is the Tag system, with all of its neat sounds as your little one reads the book. As my son presses on each dinosaur with his Tag reader, it gives him fun facts about the dinosaur and even their sounds. It's really sparked his interest in dinosaurs. As I was putting him to bed last night he said "Mommy, did you know a T-Rex's legs were as big as a grown person??" It was adorable! We love our Tag reader, and this book is an excellent addition to my son's library!

This is, by far, my sons favorite Tag book! He's 4 and into dinosaurs so of course he likes it. But he likes it because he can go off on his own and read it. We like it too, sure it's a cute dino story, but the reading/word activities are great in this book.

First, on the Tag Reading system in general. My 3 and 5-yr-old boys love this system. And though I was disappointed at first that the books do not force them to highlight each word before the word is read to them, I have a different view now. The default process is that my son launches a page, and the automated reader reads the whole page to them. Here's why I now like this: My boys are thrilled to sit with these books and listen to stories. So while they are not learning to read by doing so, and not even getting the one-to-one word/sound association I'd hoped for, they are viewing reading on par excitement-wise with their other play activities.

My five-yr old actually read fairly proficiently by the time he had his first Tag reader, but he still loves to have a few of these books read to him by the "magic pen." My 6-yr old isn't as enthused, perhaps because he already reads so much on his own. T-Rex and Diego's Underwater Rescue are favorites of my 3-yr old. Lots of good sound effects. My 5-yr old loves Up! and (sigh) Walter the Farting Dog. That one came free with a purchase of a few others, for better or worse. With four boys, you can imagine the glee this book evokes.

My 4yr old son reads this book all the time. After connecting it to the computer, I saw that he has read this book for almost 4 hours! He is learning to read because of the games at the end of this book. He quotes us dino facts all day long that he learned from this book. For any dinosaur fan, GET THIS BOOK!

I actually bought the Tag Reader for my 2 1/2 year old grandson for Christmas. He already loves to have books read to him and I wanted to continue that fascination. Of course his 6 year old sister loves the system also, so I had to get her her very own reader and case. Love the books. Need more. They are good for the younger and the older one. He learns the sounds and words and things and she can play the games at the different levels.

My son received a TAG for his 5th birthday this year. He received quite a few TAG books from family members and this one is by far his favorite. He would sit for hours going through the pages, pressing the TAG pen to the words and the pictures to produce the audio. It's a great story line and if your child loved T-Rex, he or she will be very pleased with this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2 ROARs for T-Rex's Mighty Roar!, January 1, 2012

Our 5 year old is into all things dinosaur and this Tag title is right up our alley. She got the book with 3 other princess titles...the princess titles are still in their packaging but T-Rex's Mighty Roar is well read. I hope to find more titles like this...maybe we will return the princess titles. I did not rate the durability, it's a book, if your kid is hard on books this one will fare no better or worse.
