It's a great toy for those learning numbers, colors, and foods.

Besides it's fun and educational to play with, great pretend-play toy for a toddler overall i would say.

(If the groceries and scanner had a homing device, like "Find iPhone" would be even better.

I was so excited when I found this. I purchased it for my daughter's 3rd b-day. She likes it but doesn't play with it as much as I expected. I think the reason is because of the three different play modes. If you have a scanner you want it to simply beep like the ones at the store. It does have this mode but it will say stuff like, " beep, moooo, one milk." Then you may scan it again and it might not beep at all. I've noticed that I can scan one item get a beep and description and then it goes into a song. That's a bit annoying when you want to play store checkout. Overall it is very cute and I would still purchase it.

Our son really enjoys using the Count and Scan Shopper. When it sings a song or plays a little tune, he dances. He knows how to scan the products, and has even picked up some words from it. This little toy teaches colors and counting, and will be a great learning tool for years to come. My only disappointment is that it warns right on the packaging that it should not be thrown or get wet...well, my toddler chews and drools on the grocery pieces, and tosses the scanner from time to time. I understand that kiddos need to treat toys with care, but I don't think expecting toys for young tots to be exceptionally durable is too much to ask for either. That said, we have had no problems with the functionality of the toy after said chewing, drooling, and tossing.

We have had the Pretend and Learn shopping cart in the past and this is a wonderful updated version of that toy. The scanner has different learning modes and will even say things when pressed up to any object, not just the food it comes with. It is so neat that it comes with a reusable shopping bad too! This was a great investment and another great product by Leapfrog!

The food is very bright and colorful. I like that it helps to learn counting. It came with a Walmart branded nylon bag. It's a great toy for pretend play.

My two year old played with this toy shortly for about 6 months. He got bored with it because he knows how to count, numbers, and colors. I would suggest checking around as the price on amazon.com is very high.

I ordered this for our 2 1/2 year old and he loves. It scans easily without pushing buttons. Different settings for numbers and/or words. Good toy.

My granddaughter (20 months old) had great fun with this toy, even though she does not "read" numbers, nor know all her colors yet she spent quite a long time scanning products to put in her new plastic pots on her new stovetop! I am sure she will quickly begin to associate colors, numbers, and names with the dfferent pieces. A fun way to learn!!
