My 9 year old daughter loves this game. I put her weekly spelling words in & she learns them while she plays the game. Usually in less than 3 days, she has learned all 20 !! It is well worth the money !! Especially for kids who have a hard time with or just don't like spelling.

This is the only Didj spelling game reccomended for 1st grade, so I bought it for my daughter. I wasn't sure if she would like it since she had never shown any interest in racing games before. However, I was more interested in giving her a game that was on her level. I was surprised that she has played her Didj more since she has gotten this game then she did since she got her Didj at Xmas. She still has some difficulty in game play (she isn't a big gammer in a family that is) but she is getting the hang of it. I love the fact that it gives her a hands on way to practice her spelling words. The graphics are decent considering that isn't why we bought the system. I am very happy with this game.

My son is in kindergarten but thoroughly enjoying this game. Of course, he enjoys the driving aspect. But, my favorite part is when I hear him sounding out words as he selects the correct letters to spell the words presented on the screen. When I check his DIDJ later, I learn that he is spelling at the first grade level or higher. It is exciting!

The didj and it's games are excellent for education and fun. Tiki racing is very entertaining for my 5th grader, 3rd grader, and 1st grader. It is probably the best spelling aid out there. Like all didj games, you do need to be careful to keep it clean and not loose such a small thing (especially with young boys)Definitely worth the purchase to make spelling more fun!! (you can even program a different list for up to 3 different children - according to their school spelling list) My boys and I love it!

This is the type of video games that should be out in the market, where you're not affraid to buy to your kids. This game is very entretaining and educative, you can add vocabulary words and math review to it so your kids not only play but learn while doing so. Thanks!

This game has great graphics, and is very cute. Personally I have a TERRIBLE time steering the cars though, and it is a bit hard for my son, although he is much better than I am at it! You race, and then answer questions to unlock more race tracks, and he does enjoy it. Very happy with the Didj purchase!

My 7 year old is about to go into 2nd grade. He has been playing this game all summer long. So far, he has gotten up to 3rd grade level spelling on the game! I love the fact that they have fun games that incorporate learning. It is a hard game to get the hang of, but then I keep telling him that it would get boring if he always won. ;-)

Quick and easy transaction. Too bad the cartridges get banged up so easily. After a few weeks it takes my son a few trys of putting them in and out to get it to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Racing game for the didj (we use it in a Leapster Explorer), April 17, 2011

So we bought this for our four year old who got a Leapster Explorer for Christmas.

We'd heard that the didj games can work in a Leapster Explorer and with this purchase I can confirm that is true. Note that the touch screen doesn't work in the game, of course, because the didj didn't have a touch screen. And also note that didj game cartridges are a perfect rectangular shape and there is no "spring" effect to help you remove the game- so we grown-ups have to pincer it out with a firm grip.

The game itself includes simple spelling (three and four letter words, some sound pairings like "ai" or "au" and such. Our son had already been through a similar wringer with the X-Men and Wolverine game for the Leapster Explorer and so was able to complete them on his own.

The spelling part comes pre-race, to gain power-ups and defense powers used in the race.

The racing part is thoroughly demoralizing for our son- he comes in last most of the time. Nonetheless he likes it, and when he comes in sixth or something he comes running to tell you. The racing part requires a quick coordinated use of the arrow buttons and acceleration and brakes- he's getting it, but it is a lot for his little fingers and reflexes to get.

Still he's very happy with it. We have not gone on line to customize the spelling words so I can't comment on that part.

Bottomline: A "racing" win for a kid with a didj or Leapster Explorer.

The hand held game is fairly easy to use and setup. My 7yr old likes to play it at home and take it with him sometimes in the car. He has learned many new words and is practicing his math problems. I like the idea knowing that he is learning while having fun and NOT just playing a game.
