LeapFrog Tag Junior Book Cars Shapes All Around

I own the entire Tag Junior library. Check out my ratings before buying books! (I wish I had researched before buying them all!)

Each left-and-right page spread features a Cars-themed scene that contains several different versions of the current shape (for example, "circle" page has a Mater scene where the sun, his tires, a street sign, and a shop sign are all circles). Shapes included are: triangle, square, circle, diamond, rectangle, oval, and star.

Given that my son is a bit advanced for some of the Tag Junior books, I sat down with my 15-month-old and let her explore with it. She has already mastered how it works, and a "shapes" book like this one is just the right start for her age. It is also appropriate for my 3-year-old in that he can search for shapes within the picture (in I Spy fashion) and not simply be taught what a circle or square is. Overall, I feel like this book is a good value because it actually will get use out of pretty wide age/ability range, though for us, not quite how LeapFrog has judged it (2-4).

As a parent of s toddler who is obsessed with cars and trains, I thought that this book would be perfect for his collection. Compared to all the other books we one, I wish that we got this one first since it is so basic. It is great in the sense that it helps with shape recognition but I would highly recommend it as one of the first books that you get for your tag junior. However, my two year old now reads this book to me without the assistance of the tag junior because of how basic It is and since it doesn't have a storyline.

GREAT book ... helped my son learn his shapes (and colors) in no time! He still plays with this book and even my 14 month old has taken to turning the pages and plopping the TAG Junior reader down it as she has watched her brother do the same. My older daughter has the regular TAG Reader and we love that one and the books as well. Would recommend to other buyers!

This was one of my daughter's Christmas gifts. She loves it...mostly because of CARs which she is the biggest fan. She will walk up to me saying Cars Cars...Very Cute, I love the book.

This book is great for children learning to read when used in conjunction with the leap frog tag junior device. Even without the device the book is enjoyable for young children, however, when used with the device a whole new meaning and experience is provided when the book is perused by children. My son is 4 and reads this book using his tag junior on a daily basis. All of the leap frog books that go along with the tag junior have proved enjoyable and entertaining for young children! While I do not feel that my son is going to learn to read with this system, I do believe this system is allowing him to develop a love for reading at a young age!

This Cars Shape book is for the Tag Jr., not the full size Tag. It is geared towards preschoolers who are learning shapes. It has Mater and Lighting McQueen voices to guide you though the book. Each page has a shape you can review and it will ask you to find more items that are that shape. So, for learning shapes it works just fine. However, it is not as detailed as other Tag Jr. books we have. There are fewer tag-able items and no story at all. Once your child has mastered all of the shapes there is no re-read value here.

It is a board book, sturdy. Like all Tag Jr. books, you need to download the programming for the book to your Tag Jr. reader.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson when he turned two. He lives in another state; a dilemma when it comes to selecting a gift. This was perfect!

We got this for my 2 year old son for Christmas along with his Tag Reader junior. The book is okay, just very simple and he gets bored fairly easily. It recites a shape for each page, but that is about it. There's not much else to it.

This book focuses on teaching shapes. I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old twin boys, and they aren't very interested in it. They learned their shapes over a year ago, so I think this book is better for much younger babies. My boys like the Thomas book and even the animals one that comes with the Jr. tag better than this book.

My son received the Tag Jr. for Christmas when he was 22 months old. Honestly he was too young for the product. Now, at 30 months old, he's much more interested. He's interested in books but it's fleeting and so these books are perfect. He can "read" one of them before moving on to another task. The book has thick pages and are toddler sturdy. He is learning his shapes in traditional form. Then the book has other examples of the shape being used in the pictures. Although he's never seen the movie "Cars", he still likes them. I do think if your little one has seen it; they would even like this book more.
