While my kids do pull this out to play, a simple microphone hooked up to a cd player would be better. The sound quality is poor and the songs are not clasical children's songs that they know.

Okay so I got this toy at a thrift store without the microphone. Even so, the $2 I spent on it was so worth it! Out of all of my son's toys this is the one he has played with from 6 months old to 2 1/2 yrs old and I will still hang on to it. We played the songs on it to keep him entertained in his high chair while he was learning to eat. Now we pull out the small trampoline and he turns it on and jumps to the songs and sings. We don't care that the microphone is missing but I guess its a big deal if you paid big bucks. I would say try to find this toy secondhand somewhere. Its still worth it even without the microphone.

It has some alphabet songs and if you wanted to use it to go back and forth between the Spanish & English versions on there it could be educational I guess.

However my son loves to sing and dance and has a blast with this thing. This is our second one because of a battery leaked in our old one after about a year.

The microphone is USELESS. You can't understand anything that is said through it no matter what you put the voice adjustment on, but my son still uses it or just unplugs it and leaves it in his toy box. He will use this thing to put on concerts for us in the living room. We only paid $35 for ours from Amazon almost a year ago so shop around.

I highly recommend it if your child likes to sing!

We received this 2 years ago for Christmas from Nana. My girls have enjoyed this toy immensely. It took a good year and a half for the microphone to stop working, but my daughters still plug it in and sing along. No the songs are not classic, but it's fun to hear them learning different songs.

Got 3 years ago as a gift. The Karaoke microphone stopped working almost immediately. Multiple calls, emails to LeapFrog and all I can conclude is that there are no replacement microphones. Still, my 2 kids enjoy listening to the songs.
