I absolutely love the LeapPad and it's books! I currently own a LeapPad and thought that the 'Spanish LeapPad' was something a little different. It is the same high quality LeapPad as the non-spanish one. What makes this 'Spanish System' is the Spanish LeapPad book that is included. I thought that it would be more like a 'repeat after me series...'. This is an excellent supplement and introduction for someone that is learning Spanish as a 2nd language and a must have for those that are native to Spanish.

This unit comes complete with an English sampler booklet (no cartridge required) and Spanish sampler booklet with cartridge. My 3 year old son had lots of fun with the sound effects even though he didn't pay particular attention to the words and didn't care to repeat the words. He is very familiar with the English version of LeapFrog and will have to get use to the Spanish version very slowly. I'm disappointed the unit has no built-in easy carrying handle or headphone jack. As for the Educational value....priceless!

This product is a great learning tool for preschoolers as well as older children trying to learn to read. Moreover, if a child is trying to learn a second language, this system currently has the books available in Spanish. It would be most beneficial if LeapFrog would adopt the idea of making available other languages such as Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, and Arabic.
