4.0 out of 5 stars Simple and entertaining
I bought this for a three year old, already owning several other leappad books. This is the first one I sat down with her and did. It has 23 pages to it, with 11 games to do. Each page has about 3 or 4 lines of the Nemo story to go with it. The variety of activities of the pages are nice too. Finding the animal they are talking about, i.e. which one has no bones...

2.0 out of 5 stars Thought it would get a better reception
My 5 year old didn't seem to want to play with it.[]after about 2 minutes wanted to play a different book (that she has had for awhile and likes). I don't know what was wrong with it; she likes Nemo and was initially excited when it came, but she is not interested in it since that first 2 minutes.

I bought this for a three year old, already owning several other leappad books. This is the first one I sat down with her and did. It has 23 pages to it, with 11 games to do. Each page has about 3 or 4 lines of the Nemo story to go with it. The variety of activities of the pages are nice too. Finding the animal they are talking about, i.e. which one has no bones? Jumping on certain jellyfish by listening to their description. Making music on the turtles Those are some of the games, I don't even think we played them all yet. It follows the movie story, although obviously much abbreviated. I thought it was quite entertaining and it takes time to do the whole book if you put the pen on everything you can. After about 10 minutes, my daughter started looking around for other things to do, but I know it wasn't because of the quality of the book. YOu know how sometimes you buy something and afterwards you kind of regret it, but I didn't feel that with this book as I think it can be enjoyed many times, even by an older child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Yet, November 30, 2003

This is the best reading adventure yet from Leapfrog. It contains an abbreviated Nemo story, but includes science facts too. Your child will learn all about plants and animals that live around a reef. The facts presented are easy for a child to remember. My daughter (4.5 years) owns a number of Leapfrog reading books. This is by far the most played with and the one that has impressed me the most.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Nemo Lovers of all Ages, January 5, 2004

I got this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter as an intro into her big brothers Leap Pad system. She adores Nemo, and this is the only Leap Pad book that will hold her attention. She can sit with it for about 30 minutes, which is a lifetime for a 2 year old. The picutes are cute, drawings, not the computer generated pictures of the movie. The story is very abbreviated, but hits most of the points. The voices are good, though Albert Brooks is noticebly missing as Marlin. The games are not great, but the educational value is high, for learning about the ocean and its inhabitants. I would recommend this book to anyone with a Nemo Lover or anyone interested in fish and the ocean.

5.0 out of 5 stars this module is pretty good, August 14, 2003

When my son wanted it despite owning a story book of Finding Nemo and despite owning a couple of other LeapPad modules I had my reservations. He loved the movie and I wasn't sure if this would just be similar to the book he had. In a way, it was but that is not the sole purpose of the toy. He enjoys the activities (games) in the book much like his other leapPad modules and because of the Finding Nemo theme, I believe he enjoys this more. My son just turned 5 and could read pretty well so I'm not sure about the reading benefits he'll get from this toy. But as long as he loves it I believe it's a pretty good buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like it pretty much, January 2, 2005

Pretty nice game. The illustrations do not look exactly like the characters in the movie. They are more like cartoon illustrated (see front cover-- the illustrations inside are similar). This was a little dissappointing at first. The voices are pretty good, it has some nice songs, and teaches some educational facts about the sea. My son's favorite part is the deep sea page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!, February 3, 2004

My kids, Ally 3.5 years, Christopher 4.5 years, and Matthew 6 years, adored this LeapFrog book. They are huge Finding Nemo fans. They have the VHS, the DVD, the X-Box game, Christopher has the bed set, we have the stuffed animals, the plates, the cups, the bowls, EVERYTHING NEMO! I saw this book in the store and I knew that Nemo's #1 Fans would love it. My boy's both have Leap Pads. My daughter Ally has the My First Leap Pad for younger kids. The only problem was the kids fighting over who was going to get to "read" it next.

My almost 4 year old daugther loves this book! She explores with it all the time. The story is a condensed version of the movie. The book also allows children to explore different facts about the sea and it's creatures. I highly recommend it.

My son is a big fan of Finding Nemo so this is, naturally, his favorite Leap Pad book right now. It has fun games with different facts about ocean creatures which my son loves.

So, as usual, another fun book from Leap Pad that I highly recommend.
