5.0 out of 5 stars Must have!
This holds the LeapPad and is a MUST have. It has an extra spot for the extra Stylus and holds 6 cartridges. This can get dirty easily and can be hard for little fingers to open but I would definitely recommend this.

1.0 out of 5 stars better alternatives
I was ready to order this case for my sons leappad but after looking at one in store it seemed very cheap and lacked padding/protection. The zipper was also difficult to use. I'm not sure if my 3 year old would be able to do it without help. I found a better and much cheaper alternative. I bought a lands end lunch bag. It was the perfect size (slightly larger, but right ratio length/width) and has a pocket on the inside top for cartridges. It offers more padding and protection. After promo code was only $3.50. Can't beat that!

I like the concept of a protective case for my daughter to use with her leappad. However, this particular case leaves a lot to be desired.

There is no way to secure the leappad into the case. There is a recess that the device rests in, but it doesn't hold the leappad securely. On multiple occasions, my daughter has tried opening the case herself only to have the leappad slip out of the case and bounce on the floor. Avoiding damage was why we bought the case -- but the lack of a mechanism to secure the device reduces this things efficacy.

This case is a MUST! As it goes with any LeapFrog/Electronic device, a sturdy case is very important. Especially with kids. My 5 yr old keeps his LeapPad Tablet in this along with his games (I think it holds 8-10). The case is kind of dirty, and I'm sure it would look banged up if it wasn't made with the hard material it is made with. But, better the case than the tablet; it cost too much to replace. Fact: kids are hard on toys, even expensive ones. BUY THE CASE!

I brought this for my 5 year old's leappad that He got for Christmas. I had read the reviews on this and alot of them were negative about how the zipper didn't hold up well and how the leappad would fall out when opened. I also brought the leappad gel skin and the leappad fits in super tight and does not fall out. I even shook the case and the leappad didn't move.LeapFrog LeapPad Gel Skin (Green)

The gel skin also helps protect the leappad when it gets drops. But you do have to take the gel skin off when changing out batteries.

I got this right after I purchased the Leap Pad for my 5 year old son. It definitely keeps the LeapPad protected when not in use. It also has 6 little slots with elastic to hold games in which is great because otherwise my son's games would probably be lost already. The only complaint I have is that the slot to keep the extra stylus in is not very good. The stylus always falls out no matter how you try to fit it in. They probably should have added elastic to keep the stylus in.

This is an excellent case. The games stay put in their straps. I wish that there was an elastic strap to hold the LeapPad in the case. As it is, when my son opens the case, the LeapPad falls out. Otherwise, it is a good idea to get the case to protect the game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy Case but Straps Desired, December 29, 2011
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars

The case is very sturdy. I bought 2 of them and they were both the same quality. The only complaint I have is the lack of a strap to secure the LeapPad into the case. I may have to try to make a strap of some sort or affix Velcro to it and the LeapPad somehow. The cases are a little hard to open for little hands and if not careful, the LeapPad comes tumbling out. Also, there's a little slot for the extra stylus that comes with the LeapPad. That also doesn't have a strap so it's very easy for the stylus to pop out and get lost. I keep the styluses (sp?) in a different case. Other than that, good price for the quality.

I purchased both the over the shoulder "Messenger" bag and this Carrying Case for my son for Christmas. After looking at both of them, I decided the smaller (carrying case) was better. It's much more durable, sturdy, more organized, and the case is hard... so if my son accidentally steps on the case, I know his screen has a better chance of surviving vs. the nylon messenger mag where all of your accessories were thrown together, games could easily slide out, and if the bag was sat on or stepped on (our family is rough on toys), I would question how safe the LeapPad was.

I do wish the case was a little bit bigger so it would hold a charging plug. I ordered the car charger and the charger for the home wall. Wish the case would hold at least 1 of them or a spare set of batteries.

Overall, highly satisfied.

Bought this for 5 yr. old grandaughter. It will be very helpful to hold her games, stylus, etc. Purchased it in green so her 2 yr. old brother will be able to use it in the future!
