5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT INVESTMENT!!!!!!
Since the L-Max came with nothing and it eats batteries very quickly this was a saving grace for us. It was hard to believe that the L-max didn't even come with an a/c adaptor which we thought was a rip off. If you have an L-Max or are considering buying one the Recharging Kit is a MUST!

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money. Here's why...
I bought this system and returned it the very next day. Why? Because for the price of this exhorbitant recharging system, you can buy two packages of four Ni-MH AA batteries that recharge in 15 minutes and last as just as long... even on one charge! And, the charging device that came with the Ni-MH batteries is much more compact. PLUS, when the L-Max eventually dies, you...

And, the charging device that came with the Ni-MH batteries is much more compact. PLUS, when the L-Max eventually dies, you can still use Ni-MH batteries for other electronic devices. Let's see you do THAT with this recharging system! Don't be fooled folks. Save your money and buy quick charging Ni-MH batteries instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars We NEEDED this, December 28, 2007
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
I can't imagine how many batteries our Lmax would have sucked up, so this battery charger is a must have. Conversely we could have bought rechargeable batteries, but this just seemed like the more convienient choice for us.

It has a green indicator light that blinks when charging and goes solid green when done. You have to make sure the L-max (or leapster) is set on the cradle correctly so the light pops on, it is easy initally before you are used to the feel of it to set it on but not have it docked correctly.

1.0 out of 5 stars CAREFUL--NOT FOR THE LEAPSTER!!! ONLY FOR L MAX, December 13, 2006
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
This item is advertised for the Leapster and LMax, however, it is only for the LMax, not the Leapster. I came very close to ordering this for my daughter's Leapster but it does not work for it. I think the Leapster should be removed from the products information on here or others will order it and not be able to use it for their Leapster (non-LMax version) and have to go through with returning it.

5.0 out of 5 stars You will love this!, October 15, 2006
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
This charger is a godsend. It may seem a bit expensive, but it more than pays for itself after a few months. Sometimes you need to adjust how the L-Max sits in the charger... you need to be aware of whether it is seated correctly and is charging before walking away (the speed of a blinking light at the base of the product is the indicator).

Overall, this product is worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome $$$ saver!, January 5, 2006
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
i love the recharger! it saves batteries and i haven't had any problems with it. the only thing that i would like would be to have the option to purchase just the battery pack that works with the charger...we have 2 l-max's in the house and i don't think it's right that i have to buy 2 chargers. that's just my thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Charger is GREAT!, April 16, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
I am so glad I purchased the charger - it was well worth the $$! Having the charger means I don't have to get the screwdriver, take the batteries out, charge them, get the screwdriver again and put them back. I like the fact that my 5 year old can click this right onto the charger by himself and take if off by himself. Or I can click it on to the cradle at night when we go to bed and it's ready to go in the morning. It's very easy! And I have not yet had a problem with him wanting to play with the system and it not being charged, and he plays it almost daily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Product is great, Amazon's price is NOT!, March 8, 2009

I purchased this charger directly from Leapfrog for around $30 in January '09. (This was not a clearance price.) I do not understand why Amazon's prices have become so inflated in the past few months. This is absolutely not worth the $99 that it is now listed for from Amazon. I do highly recommend the charger. It has worked well and taken the hassle out of having to replace or recharge batteries that must be removed from the Leapster. You just set the whole Leapster unit on the charger and a light indicates that it is set on correctly. My son knows to put his Leapster on the charger each night so it is always ready to go with a fully charged battery. (Although he has never run the battery all the way down yet anyway.) I wouldn't want to deal with the batteries on the Leapster otherwise. Buy this product elsewhere though, unless the folks at Amazon get their heads out of their butts with their overinflated prices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Battery Pack for charger, June 4, 2006
By
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
My son is 5 and also loves his L-Max. With as much time as he spends with it, I like that he can actually learn something instead of just feed the mindless gaming habit.

As for the battery pack, according to another review I've read, you can purchase just the battery pack directly from LeapFrog. I looked on their website and didn't find it, but I'm sure if you call their customer service, they would be happy to help.

My only problem with the L-Max is that the games are so limited. My son is 5 and there are only about 4 games for his age group and even fewer as the kids get older. And for as much as you pay for the L-Max, I'd like it to last longer than 3rd or 4th grade.

5.0 out of 5 stars L-Max Recharging Kit, February 3, 2006
This review is from: LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2 (Toy)
A must have if you have the L-max. I put it in my kids room and they put it on the charger every night, and we never run out of juice. Even my 4 year old knows how it works.
