My son sat in the back of the car yesterday counting all the way to 100 by two's...very impressive. When I asked if he learned to do that in school he said no - that he had learned to do it from his batman leapster game. Enough of a selling point for me!

My boys just turned 5 and this Batman game is by far their favorite. They love the challenge of finding their way through the rooms, "stunning" the enemies, and finding the sparkling prizes.
It has been really helping with their fine motor skills, which is the real reason I wanted the Leapsters in the first place. Although they need help with some of the math (greater than and less than mostly, a concept which they are still working on), they have surprised me that they can match all the shapes, do the simple addition, and figure out how to "cut" shapes geometrically in half. My 7 year old daughter also enjoys playing this Batman game on her brothers' Leapsters. It's definitely not only for boys.

I am entering this review primarily to warn parents that, despite the glowing reviews to the contrary, your children will not necessarily become math geniuses by playing this game. I was initially quite impressed with this game. We got two leapsters for our 5 and 6 year old boys. We bought starwars, batman and the kindergarten cartridges. On the day we gave them to the boys, we drove 5 hours to the beach. They played the whole way. Both fought over having the Batman game. Neither wanted the Kindergarten cartridge.
The next day, I played the Batman game with the 5 year old. He showed me how to move the man around, throw bomarangs and catch the bad guys. What he didn't show me, was how to answer any of the math problems. You don't really have to do any to play the game. Just ignore them and it turns into a low res video game with no educational value. We specifically did not get a DS to avoid this issue. Well, maybe eventually they will do some math problems/recognition stuff, but to date, no. Just thought other parents should know this. Play the games with your kids to see what they are really doing. I made them play the Kindergarten game. That one is more educational, but from what I could see, the problem solving was pretty low level, even for Kindergarten. Maybe my expectations were too high. I am now not sure we did the right thing by buying the leapsters, just so they could have the toy everyone else has. Definitely no DS. Just finished reading Charlie and Chocolate Factory to the boys. They loved it, especially the ditty the ompaloompahs sing after the demise of Mike Teavee. If written today, I'm sure there would have been a character who played video games all the time.

This is my son's most favorite Leapster game! We own six and he loves this one the best. I'm so glad we bought it. My son is 5 years old it has helped with double digit number recognition, counting by two's and a few other things. I love Batman-Strength in Numbers!

My 5 year old LOVES this. He's not a Batman fan but loves math (go figure). Once he mastered the basic controls and concepts with help from dad he did it on his own. It presents good game action with good guys and bad guys and presents math problems at different user-settable levels. The problems are addition, pattern matching and fill in the blank with the game designers doing an excellent job of making these interesting. I highly recommend this game/toy for those kids that like math.

They absolutely love it! They started playing a few days ago and are just fascinated by it. And they have learned so much already. Which number is greater than which one, the sequence of numbers, it's just amazing. I tried it and I was like, "huh, how does Batman open the door?" and my son David said, "Mom, just push the up arrow". Four years old and they are understanding instructions and selecting correct answers, all because Batman is so entertaining. I recommend this game 100%. (BTW, stay away from the Nemo game, it's just too boring).

My 6 and 9 year old boys have been playing this game for many months and do not get tired of it. It is wonderful during long car trips. My 6 year old loves the math section, greater than and less than and counting by 5s. He has learned multiplication tables by playing the game.

This Batman game has me sold on the virtues of the Leapster. Shapes and slicing them in half, greater vs. less than, numbers with simple addition/subtraction, fine motor coordination, simple sheer fun! My son just likes me to watch him play the game on the couch. It's challenging for him with different levels of difficulty as he tries to battle and reach the arch-villain. It has helped him construct "good guy" and "bad guy" distinction. My son received the game with a Leapster L-Max for X-mas and will turn 4 on Apr 10, he's even beginning to read already, so whatever we're doing as concerned parents it's working! Definately a winner for this family. My daughter is 2.5 years old and we're going to get her a pink L-Max for her birthday with a Dora and Barbie/Princess game; but we're looking at perhaps the Thomas the Tank Engine or Cars game next for my son?? The reviews for them look good as well...

This Batman game is pretty good for my son who just turned 4 years old. He is moderately interested in playing it because of the Batman character. It has a couple of areas that are a little tough for him but will be age-appropriate in a few months as he develops. We are pretty pleased.

Got this for my 4 year son. He is into Batman and he loves this leapfrog batman game. Last time he played it, he got 100% number recognition, which I had no idea he could do.
