This little toy boombox incorporates the fun of listening and singing along to some favorite tunes with learning some basic skills. This original toy from LeapFrog uses two modes to teach and entertain at the same time. In learn mode, a friendly voice prompts the listener to identify colors, instruments, and sounds by pressing on the corresponding characters. In song mode, there are 25 songs ranging in style from classical to jazz to more standard children's fare. Five original songs make use of rhyming, counting, and other educational themes--and all the songs inspire experimentation and a deeper understanding of how instruments play together when characters are added or subtracted from the lineup. Children can feel part of the band by pressing one of three sound effects buttons, or by singing along. More songs can be added to the repertoire from the LeapFrog Web site, with the aid of the LeapLink (sold separately). After download, the characters--Leap, Lily, Dan, and Casey--will call your child by name.

Developmental and Learning Attributes: Exposure to music during the early years enhances the learning process by promoting language development, creativity, and social interaction. Children respond favorably to music that is familiar. Playing a recorded song several times as background music can boost familiarity and build vocabulary as the lyrics are learned. This is a great toy for any child showing interest in music. My daughter just loves to pack this around and has even began to sing along with several of the songs. She is 2 and a half years old and I would recommend this for any child from about 2-4 years old. There are two volume settings and it comes with 25 songs on it. From "The ABC Song" to "When the Saints Come Marching In," they are familiar and classic songs. The only draw back is that some of the songs play without words, but overall it is great.

My 1yo got this for Christmas. She is now 18months and knows her alphabet as well as the songs that this toy plays. I can ask her to play Mozarts night music for me and she knows which butons to press and then hums along with the tune. She brings her *K Frog* with her on trips as well. Its been a very fun & educational toy wich will be used for many years in our home. PS. The original batteries are still working !!

My 3 1/2 yr. old son got this for Christmas and has played with it far more than any other toy he's ever had, just about every day. Didn't take him long to learn the words to the songs. Best part is that there's no cassette to rewind/fast forward. They just press the button until they hear the title of the song they want. My 15 mo. old recently dropped it in the bathtub and ruined it so we had to promptly by another one because he was completely crushed.
