5.0 out of 5 stars The older my son gets, the more he loves it!
My son got this for Christmas 2002 when he was 6 months old. He is almost 18 months and he loves it more and more. He likes to push the buttons, smile in the mirror, and listen to the music. It is VERY durable. My son is a "thrower" and loves to toss his toys all around the house. It also isn't a battery-eater. With some toys, you are constantly changing...

1.0 out of 5 stars 6 Months? I dont think so
At 6 months old it takes kids a second to get there hands to the keys. If you dont hit a key within 2 seconds this toy starts talking "hit a key" or plays the song depending on which mode your on - and then if another 4 seconds passes it shuts off. Literally were speaking seconds here. Even if the fact the toy is impatient doesnt drive me bonkers enough _ I bought this...

With some toys, you are constantly changing the batteries, however this toy is the opposite. It's a great value and a great toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars appeals to kids of all ages, October 8, 2002

We bought this toy for our 5-month-old son to encourage him to spend more time on his tummy. Joseph loves music and mirrors, and this combines both and much more! If he's playing on the floor and sees (or hears) this nearby, he rolls over to it almost immediately. The wide variety of instruments and songs is great to keep from driving a parent crazy, and Joseph is learning to touch the keys to keep the song going. Although this toy turns off rather quickly, a child can easily start it up again by touching any of the buttons. I wish it switched songs more easily, but Joseph doesn't mind the help from Mom or Dad! I took this toy on a visit to my sister's, and her almost 4-year-old son had a great time playing with the toy and "showing" Joseph how to use it. His one-year-old sister liked the music and lights, too. We haven't had a problem with the paint on the handle chipping yet, but we haven't had this very long, either. All in all, we highly recommend this as a great learning toy and entertainment for kids of all ages!!

I bought this toy for my 1 yr. old grand-daughter and she just loves it. It is portable enough for her to carry room to room and durable enough to be dropped lots of times on the journey. It has music, which she can keep playing by simply touching a key, and it will automatically turn off if it is not being played with. It also teaches colors and shapes, as well. I am sure that she will play with this for a long time to come. Great buy!!

4.0 out of 5 stars turns over, August 24, 2003

my 7 month old always perks up when i bring this out. the only probelm is with the design/shape. almost immediately he flips it over so that the piano side is facing the floor. it seems to more naturally be weighted for that position.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!!, February 21, 2005
This review is from: See & Learn Piano (Toy)
My son got this when he was four months old. At that age, he liked to watch us play it for him, but at five months he started playing with it himself. The keys are easy for him to press and he really likes looking at himself in the mirror.

There are three different learning modes (colors and shapes, songs, and free play). There are also four different instruments to choose from (banjo, flute, sax and piano). Each instrument plays several different songs which are selected by pressing the instrument buttons surrounding the mirror. The mirror has four flashing red light bars around it that light up when the keys are pressed.

The only complaint I have with this toy is the volume. As with some other Leap Frog toys we own, the sound is too loud on the lowest setting. The speaker is on the upper left side and I find it easy to hold my palm over it to lower the volume when I am helping play with the toy, but I am considering putting some tape over the speaker for times that my palm is not available.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Musical Teaching Winner!!, August 18, 2004

(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)

Among the Leap Frog products, this learning piano is terrific. We've had it in our home for the last two years, and it's just as much fun as it was when it first entered our home.

There are basically four areas of interest on this piano. There's the piano sound, banjo, woodwind sound, and saxophone sound. Then when you push each little circle with the picture of the instrument, you get a variety of different songs. For example, the banjo sound plays the tune, among others, of "Oh Susanna," and the piano sounds gives a really neat instrumental version of a ragtime piece.

If for some reason you just push the button, the music will play for several seconds, and then the little voice will come on and say "Press any key to play the song," and then you can continue the music up to the end by continuing to hit the keys. It looks as if you're really playing the piano, too.

Our girls have loved this, and its importance is in teaching not only the variety of music, but the different kinds of instruments, and the fun of interacting physically with the sounds, among other things.

This product is really great!! And highly recommended!!

My son has had this toy since his first birthday and loves it!! He loves the banjo music the best and play with his "computer" while mommy works on her's. The onlyproblem we have found is that the music doesn't last long enough. But he just plays the piano tokeep it going. This toy will be kept for our other children and grandchildren, I'm sure.

My son loves his piano but he is teething and tends to bite down on things. I noticed the other day that the paint on the back of the handle is chipped. I don't know if the paint chipped from my son biting the handle or from the piano being dropped. The handle should probably be made of a different material - maybe one softer and not painted that a teething child could bite down on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Okinawa, Japan USMC, December 15, 2004
This review is from: See & Learn Piano (Toy)
I bought this toy for my daughter for her 1st birthday and she absolutly loves it! I love it because there are so many different songs and tunes so you never get tired of hearing the same old thing over and over again. Plus, you can turn the volume from loud to soft. I must admit that the "soft" is actually quite loud but not too loud that it overpowers say the television or whatever I may be listening to. She loves it because of the lights and she can see herself in the little mirror and she loves to dance to all the songs. There must be at least 20 different songs and tunes between all the different buttons. And, there are different settings so she can learn shape and colors or songs or instuments. It is super durrable. She has dropped it and thrown it and it hasn't slowed down a bit. And when she is done playing with it, it turns itself off until the next time it is activated. So it saves on battery life.

My daughter received this piano for Christmas when she was 1, and it was her favorite toy for months to come. She loved to push the buttons and rock (dance) and look at herself in the mirror. She learned to anticipate when the music would stop and push the buttons before it stopped.
