I'm guessing you know how the Tag system works if you're reading this, so I'm focusing the review on the content of the book rather than the system itself. Go to LeapFrog TAG Reading System - Green (or the purple one or Toy Story one) for device-specific reviews.

You'll like this as long as you're not expecting a story book. Unlike many other Tag titles, this one is all games:
An I Spy game in Andy's room
A maze with the cars from Cars
A map challenge with Nemo
A music game with Wall-E
A word search with Buzz & friends
A counting game with tires and Cars characters
Matching and counting games from Nemo
A code-breaking game from Wall-E
A number sequence game from Wall-E

I liked it, but I *really* wish that they had left off the last page. It's an ad for other Tag books/products that can be read with the Tag reader pen, so she gets to that page and starts asking for all the items. In the Beauty and the Beast book, they included a Tag-readable flier that I could let her look at and then take away later, whereas you can't skip this ad without getting rid of the book.

According to the cover, Leapfrog says this teaches: math, logic & reasoning, memory skills, and life sciences. I think that might be reaching, but it's solid. I do think that some of the games are a bit advanced for the younger crew. The packaging says 4-6, but I think most four year olds would have trouble playing it all independently, especially the first time. I don't mind sitting with my four-year-old daughter to do the games, but I just wanted to let you know that you might need to do that if you have a younger Tag user.

This book definately is more challenging than most of the other Tag books offered. But, it's good only for a few plays. Once you have "played" the games a few times, you know where all the answers are. Not much of a story to "read" all the time. A few downfalls of the book, it's only about 15 pages. And the last set of pages are just advertisements for other Tag books! I couldn't beleive it! Really, we know it's a huge Goldmine, you don't need to force it on us! Would I recommend this book, maybe, if you already owned all the other Tag books. I originally bought two, one for my son, one for my nephew. I have since returned the one for my nephew.

I bought this book for my son thinking it would be fun to play some activities with the Tag reader. He wasn't really interested with the activities after he had finished them all. The Tag reader is best used for helping with reading stories. There are a few activities in the Storybook Tag books which were enough to keep my son occupied. This book with only activities was not really worth buying.

This puzzle book is a great addition to any tag collection. There is a page where you are on a track with the car characters, and they ask you all kinds of questions about numbers. He answers the questions right to win the race. There is also a seek and find with buzz, woody and jessie from toys story. My 5yr old enjoys this books alot. Plus the get rewards for playng the games correctly so many times. He really enjoys it. Keeps him busy for hours.

I love LeapFrog workbooks and books. My 4yr old son spends endless time hearing the stores, trying to read along, writes, traces the letters and loves the puzzles. So much to do with the LeapReader and great products to do them with.

My son likes the book but I wish the leap reader gave him a little more time to figure the puzzle out. I'm sure the more he uses it and understands how to use it he will enjoy it more.
