I think I understand why a previous reviewer was disappointed about misunderstanding that this book is not the reading program or part of the reading program. We purchased this book as part of a set including the Tag Junior toy. On our box there is a sticker claiming "#1 Best-Selling Reading System". Still, if you are to look at this book alone and provide a review I have to say I am somewhat impressed. There is one color word on each page with pictures of items that are the specified color and Curious George is doing some action on each page. You just touch the LeapFrog Tag Junior book pal (purchased separately) to each page to hear the colors, item names, and a sentence describing Curious George's action. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the age range for this particular book is very limited....mostly 2 year olds who are learning colors. At 2y9m my son is already past that. He still enjoys the book, though. My concern, however, is that my son would have lacked the ability to sit still and operate this toy with this book going page by page 6 months ago when he was learning color words. So, I think it has a very limited audience.

I bought all of the Tag Junior books for my three year old son, as I love educational assistance from my children's toys. Check out my ratings before buying Tag Junior books!
This "color" book teaches one color per left-and-right page spread (e.g. red strawberry, red paint - green trees, green apple - orange pumpkin, orange orange). At nearly three, my son is way past learning colors. He still likes it because he likes George, but overall I would not recommend spending $10-12 dollars on a small board book for a child who already knows basic colors. My 15-month-old daughter is the one actually learning from this and she has already mastered how the Tag works. I rate this book 3 stars for a 3-year-old, 5 stars for a 12-24 month old, 4 stars overall.

My 2 year old daughter likes to play with Tag Junior.
She turns page by page, puts the tag on each object over and over and loves to hear the sounds.

My sone (age 2) loves this book the best so far (even over Lightning McQueen!). He received it for Christmas. Like the other postings have said, this book is great for a 2 year old. He likes balloons - there is one on every page - the color matching the page. He hasn't really gotten the concept of puttiing the reader over the word yet, but I'm hoping the excitement of this book will keep him interested long enough to learn it. I gave it a 4 instead of 5 because I think he will tire of this book eventually.

Great way to talk about colors! No monkey business just straight forward color information. Boring if your child already does colors.

The quality of the books is perfect for my 27 month old girl who is capable of destroying a screw! She is highly entertained with the books and although she steps on them and drops them constantly, they are intact. Excellent buy

My son picked up his colors, shapes, numbers (1-20), sound of letters and even can read small three letter words at one. Its not easy finding him educational toys that keep his interest at two but these books reinforce all the things he knows, so I like them even if he only reads them once a week.

We got this for my 2 year old son for Christmas, along with the Tag reader Jr. Its not a bad book, there's just not a lot to it. My son just bangs the book and it recites the color on each page. There is one color per page and it reads off the color and name of the item. We haven't seen much else and gets bored with it pretty easily.

I was fooled by the ads of the leapfrog tag junior book. I thought the book would include the reading system. But the reading system is sold separately and much more expensive. It was not clear at all from the description. I hate that I was fooled.
