Great,

The turbo extreme is great. I decided on this because it has math, social studies, spelling all in the one and I can buy additional cartridges if I want. But they are not necessary. I have had a problem with the unit in that the screen has decided not to work, leapfrog are going to exchange it for me.
I have 4 children ages 4 - 8 and they all use this because it has all different levels. A great educational toy!

Review from a teacher and mom,
This review is from: Turbo Twist Extreme (Toy)
I HIGHLY recommend the Turbo Twist Extreme. I got it for my daughter before she went into first grade, so that she could be ahead of the game in reading and spelling. She does not do very well with video games and such, as she is easily frustrated...but she cannot put this game down!!! I love the fact that there are already games on this product, so you don't have to buy the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade cartridges right away. The very best thing about this product, in my opinion as a teacher, is the fact that there are many levels to choose from. You can start out on easy and gradually make it harder as you learn. My daughter started out on easy words like cat...and now, in 1st grade, she can read words like 'thought'. This handheld game has a place where you can plug in headphones. This makes it great for travel. She has used it in the car as well as on plane rides. It is fairly light and virtually indestructible. If you are looking for a fun and educational toy for your child, please get this one!!!

I got this for my kindergartener at Christmas. It took me about half an hour to figure out, but she picked it up much easier. It's proven to be a very exciting way to learn math, spelling, and facts. We often bring it for a road trip. And, like a previous reviewer has noted, the volume control is a blessing. With regard to content I originally bought the first grade cartridge, but have yet to use it -- the included math, spelling, and facts are enough. But we're headed off to Japan for the fall and we will definitely bring this and the 1st grade cartridge along both for entertainment and education. This has remained a favorite and seem to be catching the alphabet apple and some dolls for longevity! Definitely a keeper that is worth the money.

When I was 5 years old, I only knew addition and subtraction. But after I played with the Turbo Twist Exteme for about 1 1/2 years, I leaned alot and I liked it alot! The Turbo Twist Exteme kept me busy and now as a 9 year old, there's still more to learn.

I purchased the Turbo Extreme after months of reading reviews and price comparing. After finally coughing up the $29.99, I found that it was well worth it. My 6 year old son takes it in the car with him and play with it every morning before school. I like the Bonanza among other things. I would highly recommend it

Turbo Twist Extremely Great!,

We have purchased other items for my 6 year old son to use and learn with but none have captured his attention like this item. He loves the monkey, he loves how easy it is to use. We keep it in the car. Finally something that he loves, nothing like a toy you can learn with and hit it and not get in trouble.

Finally - All in One! Great Toy!,
This review is from: Turbo Twist Extreme (Toy)
We really like the multi-subject format, as my son was asking for multiple Turbo Twists (Spelling, Math, Fact Blaster), and that wasn't going to happen. It holds his attention, and in fact, the adults pick it up and play with it as well. Very happy with this product - glad Santa brought it! They just need to come out with a carrying case of some sort, so we stop misplacing the cartridges!

Fabulous and Fun!,

We bought this for our just-turned-6-year-old. She's only been in Kindergarten a few months so hasn't been exposed to many of these skills in school, I was concerned it would be too hard. She is usually frustrated when she can't get something right, but this offers appropriate positive reinforcing clues so that she can get it right. She loves it. She has only had it three days and has played all the games, her favorite is the missing letter spelling game. The first day she received it, she had to count on her fingers to do +1, today she has +1, +2 and -1 all for memory. She picks it up a few times a day for at least 15-20 minutes each. The point based award system keeps her motivated. I also love the volume control, repeat button, and the fact that you can practice very specific math skills. Bravo. Fabulous Toy.

My Six Year-Old Really Likes it... Sometimes,

This doesn't get played with as frequently as I would have thought, but when she does use it she really seems to enjoy it. We got the 1st grade cartridge and that's been very popular. It has been dropped several times and been through multiple 6 year-old girl vs. 3 year-old girl tug-o-wars and seems none the worse for the wear.
