5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I am a professional musician, and most educational music toys were very limited. When I got this book I was pleasantly surprized to find that it not only teaches song melodies, but as they grow it teachs note names, values and pitch. This is a wonderful addition to your Leap Pad Library!

Hope this Helps!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the greatest LeapPad book
We were a bit disappointed in this book. The tunes and tempo of several of the rhymes is different than the "usual" versions that my kids are familiar with. The pages could really use to be more durable, the cord from the pen has caused several small tears and the pages rip from the spiral binding much too easily. For the price, I would suggest getting a different...

My 2 1/2 year old got the leap pad for Christmas. In an effort to find books that were more his level I picked this one up for him.

This is a great book for the leap pad. In fact it is one of the best ones we have seen so far. (We haven't used very many though.)

The songs are classics. The instruments you can play the song with change from page to page, so you might have an accordian on one page and a violin on the next. The idea that you can learn the song line by line is neat as well as clicking on the individual words to learn each word. My son has enjoyed clicking on the seperate notes to play his own music.

This is a fun book. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, two concerns, January 16, 2002

This is a fun Leap Pad book - it has 14 songs/rhymes and allows the child to learn lyrics (either line by line or word by word), 3 different instrument sounds and the musical note names themselves. The only concerns I have are 1) that the pages of the book are relatively thin and rip somewhat easily and 2) this particular book's icons at the bottom of each page are confusing. They are designed to look very cute with swirling ribbons around them, but it's hard for my daughter to clearly understand what each one does. It also doesn't start playing a song when the child clicks the GO circle - they have to click on an instrument, and then the singer, to hear it sung. This is different from the other LEAP books, as they all start reading the page to the child as soon as GO is clicked. I don't think it's a reason NOT to get it; I just wish they had made it consistent with the other LEAP Level 1 books.

My daughter received this book with a Leap Pad for her second birthday. She uses it everyday and usually falls asleep with it. I cannot say enough good about this product.

My five year old is just a music lover. She really enjoys learning the songs with the help of this book. Certainly need more of these.

My son loves this book, and the music pages that come with the "default" Leap Pad book. I wish there were more music books in the collection.

This book was a disappointment. The idea is awesome, but the tunes are a little off beat-slow. We have completely enjoyed other Leap Frog books, but this book was missing zip. The pages are ripping off the spiral part. We still look forward to trying other books!

This review is from: LeapPad: Leap 1 Music - "Mother Goose Songbook" Interactive Book and Cartridge (Toy)
After being thoroughly impressed with the original LeapPad material, I was just as underwhelmed by this offering. The best song was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. My wife was annoyed with one particular woman's singing. My wife knows good singing having been in a choir that toured world-wide.

I was looking forward to having my kid know the words to Old McDonald had a Farm and other classic melodies that they've heard from other toys but without lyrics.

The book is relatively thin. It also seemed to lose track of where it was more than I ever noticed before (required clicking on the Green GO button more). Etc.
